Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl developer Thaddeus Crews has admitted that the game launched in a "rough sta🎃te" and that the team is "playing a lot of 🍎catch-up".
When it was first announced, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl set the internet on fire. Here was a game that looked like it could stand up to Smash, with rollback netcode and competitive play that could even outrival it. Although the♛ game launched to mostly positive🎐 reviews, it's lack of content has caused the excitement to die down a bit, and the development team at Ludosity to go a little quieter than they were before launch.
Although we know that DLC is coming to All-Star Brawl, because of this silence many fans were worried about the state of the game. This concern only grew when Warner Bros. play💝ed its hand and revealed MultiVersus earlier in the week, complete with character voices and many of the things that players wanted fromജ ﷽All-Star Brawl.
Thankfully, Thaddeus Crews, character designer and programmer for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, has reassured fans that the game is going nowhere and opened up a bit about the development of the game behind the scenes. , Thaddeus posted in the game's official Discord, reassuring fans that the game wasn't going to be cancelled anytime soon.
He said, "It was a rough launch and we are playing a lot of catch-up, but I'm beyond thankful and thrilled to say that there's absolutely no threat or concern of us getting cut off in any way."
, saying "It's clear that a massive chunk of NASB had systems meant for something much smaller and meant for a tiny team, but then expectations/goals continually blew up and teams expanded and now we're left with "what do you mean there's a DOZEN different animation root systems?"
Even though All-Star Brawl has had an admittedly rough launch, the subreddit and community surrounding it seem happy with Thaddeus' message, and the promise that development for the game isn't just going to stop.
