Nier originally released in 2010, offering fans a brand new RPG world to explore that held many secrets and that was 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:more than initially met the eye. The game actually had two different versions in Japan, Nier Gestalt where the protagonist was Yonah's fat꧂her, and Nier Replicant, where the protagonist was Yonah's brother.
The west only received the Gestalt version, but the Nier Replicant remake that is set to release later this month will finally allow fans to experience the younger protagonist. The game included a host of other interesting characters, some of which even featured in some form in the sequel, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nier: Automata.
Nier features two different acts set five years apart from ൲one another. That means that during your playthrough, you will see the characters at two points in their life. Both the Gestalt and Replicant versions of the game also present different ages for a number of characters. Additionally, The World of Recycled Vessel DLC allowed Gestalt players to experience a younger Nier, wh🍒ereas Replicant players experienced the older Nier.

For Gestalt players, or all of us stuck in the west, Papa Nier was the protagonist for us. He is very protective of his daughter Yonah and will do anything to cure her of the Black Scrawl disease that ai🅠ls her. Players learn in The World of Recycled Vessel DLC that Nier's wife died as a result of the Black Scrawl.
Interestingly, Papa Nier shares his birthday of September 11th with the release date of the original Draken♍gard, the franchise from which the Nier series was ꦜborn.
It's hard for western fans to not have a soft spot for Papa Nier, or Father Nier if you will, as he was the only version we had on the game's original release. For those of us that are a little sad that he is being replaced in the remake, Square Enix has apparently stated that if N📖ier Replicant Sells 2.5 Million Copies, th⛦at it will consider adding Papa Nier to the game.
6 ꦏ Brother Nier

Brother Nier was the face of the original Nier Replicant and is also the protagonist in the 2021 remake of the same name. His personality is largely the same as Papa Nier, though he is the older brother of Yonah in these versions. Additionally, in The World of Recycled Vessel DLC,🌳 it is Nier's deceased mother's diary that is explored, whereas in Gestalt it belongs to Nier's🔯 deceased wife.
Interestingly, Brother Nier has a different birthday to that of Papa Nier. According to the , this is because the development team us✨ed Yoko Taro's birt🥀hday as a placeholder, as Taro was the Director of the game. Originally, they planned to change it to match the September 11th birthday to pay homage to Drakengard but ultimately forgot to do so.
5 Yonah

Yonah is a sweet young girl who is afflicted with the Black Scrawl. Due to her fragility, she spends most of her time at home while Nier is out in the world looking for a cure for her. Interestingly, Yonah's age also changes depending on the version of the game, with her 🎶being three years younger in Replicant than she is in Gestalt. This could be to create a🐷 sweeter sibling relationship in the Replicant version.
4 Kaine

Kaine is one of the characters that Nier meets on his journey and she becomes a party companion. Kaine is portrayed as a cold character with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a penchant for colorful language, but her hard exterior is likely a result of being an outcast. She is ostracized by others because she is possessed by a shade named Tyrann. However, players do get to see a softer side of Kaine the more they get to k🅰now her.
Kaine's age differs between the two different game versions, though only by ♏a few years. It's possible that she was made old enough to be considered an adult in Gestalt as in Ending C, it is revealed that Nier has romantic feelings for her.
Though the age difference between the two is still rather large, making her 20 years old at least avoids the🤪 issue of her being a teenager in this potential romance with a much older man. It is unclear whether Kaine also thought of Nier romantically, though it is obvious that he was special to her.

Eventually, it is revealed that he and his twin sister Halua are the results of magical experimentation, something that eventually causes Emil to change form and bꦆecome No. 7
Emil's exact age is unknown,♛ though there are theories to suggest that his aging is either delayed or has been entirely halted as a result of the experimentation. Evidence to supporไt this theory includes his lack of aging between acts one and two, whereas other characters of roughly the same age noticeably get older.
2 ♛ Devola and Popola ♓

Devola and Popola are twin sisters who live in the same village as Nier and Yonah and hold some authority there. Devola is the more carefree of the two and is a bard who sings in the local tavern, whereas Popola is in charge of the village's library and is more reserved. Devola a🌊nd Popola made a reappearance in Nier: Aut𝔉omata, however, it was in appearance only, as they were not the ex🍸act same characters.

According to the , in the Grimoire Nier book that released in Japan, the short story titled "And Th♕en There Were None" reveals that Grimoire Weiss was once꧒ human and it also elaborates on his backstory and how he came to be.
