Over the years Nintendo has given everyone a mix of 3D and 2D Mario platformers, with the most sales usually leaning to 2D platformers. While Nintendo puts in the most effort in their 3D Mario games, a lot of🐠 people see Mario as a 2D side-scrolling game series and overall prefer it in most cases. While both are fun in th🐻eir own ways they can be 2 very different playing games.

appeals to the mainstream audience through its family friendliness and overall connectable gameplay. If you play a Mario game, you are playing a game, rather than a story or an experience. While Mario was one of the innovators of the 3D gaming era, many still connect with Mario better for its original gameplay. So that leads to the question of today, which gameplay elements form both are better? Here are 5 ways 2D Mario is Better and 5 ways 3D Mario is better.

10 𓆏 🐷 2D: Better Control

3D Mario really tends to play like you're always sliding around on ice, which can be super frustrating. While 2D Mario has its moments like "BUT I PRESSED JUMP!" it can be much easier to control. There's also a lot fewer controls y꧙ou have to worry about, like 3D wall jumping where you have to wall skip on 3 walls to get up an obstacle, otherwise, you fall if you try to jump on the open wall where the camera is.

In 2D Mario, you have 2 movement controls youℱ have to worry about, left and right. It's simple enough where anyone can pick up on it and even family members can enjoy it.  It makes for a good family game when it's multiplayer.

9 3D: More Expressiv🐻e Environments 🔴

One thing 3D Mario is really great at is flashy and exciting environments. Mario is the king of bright and eye-catching colors. Nintendo knows how to animate cartoony graphics that can make you go "Wow," without having to look at hyper-realism. They know how to do it at the🥃 right times too so that your eyes can catch it.

Even though they can go flashy, the environments and world in 3D Mario are expressive too. You wouldn't see the detail of the characters or world in a 2D Mario game. This is truly the case because a lot of what defined Mario in appearance and how we know his world today is through Su꧃per Mario 64, which defined everything about 💝Mario for future generations.

8 2D: More Levels ౠ

With the complex nature of 3D Mario Games, not as many levels can modernly be put in. 2D Mario is a good place to find a longer game with more levꦜels to get through because of the simplicity of its nature as a platformer.

Developmental time is also less when waiting for a 2D Mario game because of less worry abꦺout new and complicated elements to program in. Some 2D Mario games make up for fewer collectibles with m𝓰ore levels to get through, especially secret ones that you have to find off the beaten path.

7 🎀 3D: Camera Controls

While this is a double-edged sword when it comes to a lot of 3D Mario games, it is more comfortable for being able to plan out a♏ jump when being able to rotate your camera. 2D Mario doesn't really give you this benefit as in most games you have to make a full stop and hold in a button to see a litﷺtle bit forward, which makes the gameplay come to a full stop.

In most 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:2D Mario games, if you have enough lives, it's be𓃲tter to just charge right through an obstacle and if it kills you plans around that rather than wait to see a little bit ahead of you.

6 2D: Simpler Control🍰s

2D Mario has been loved for generations because of its arcade-style contrᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚol system. Many can have trouble on a 3D platform but can easily play and prefer a 2D game. It can even be said with the number of popular 2D indie games that have come out in the past years that the market for it is big when it's done right.

It does include its own nostalgic feeling while playing for most to boot. With Mario, the main controls are to run, j🦋ump, and throw fireballs. There is no learning curve besides the puzzles and obstacles themselves, which can be more rewarding than trying to figure out gameplay elements or controls.

5 3D: More Gaming Mꦿodes

3D environments do hold the power for many different ways to🌠 play, minigames and added upgrades included.

There are many little things that can be done with a physics engine in a 3D game that a 2D game can lack, and we're not talking about the crazi🗹ness of Goat Simulator. This can add ꦅso much more to a Mario game that makes their 3D platforms so eccentric and over the top, such as the light-up panels form the final level of Super 3D Mario World.

4 🌳 2D: Easier High Score Runs

With so many elements in 3D Mario it can be hard and time-consuming to get all the little points to reach a high ൲rising number.

It isn't like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sonic the Hedgehog, where finishing as quickly as possible gets you all these extra 🌳points compared to collecting enough and be♏ating up enough bad guys before finishing.  In 2D Mario, the scope is more concentrated so that it's easier to do so, much like an arcade game.

3 🦹 3D: ♌Easier Multiplayer

2D Mario multiplayer can be troublesome because other players are limited to a certain screen and can't progress further without getting bubb🐻led or bubbling other players.

While this is an element in 3D Mario multiplayer, it allows for other players to 🌜see where they are going better and allows extra flexibility through that.

2 𝓰 ༒ 2D: Doesn't Need a Story

While Mario games aren't stoജry-heavy pieces, more is expected from a modern 3D game such as with Mario Odyssey. It has to be different, big, and exciting to bring on sales so something has to happen to bring new and creative elements together when it comes to 3D Mario, so while it isn't a story that will make you cry, it's still a story nonetheless that has to bring everything together and add a goal.

2D Mario doesn't have these necessities, it doesn't have to t🌺ie much of anything together as a player will be more interested in what platform or obstacle they'll be getting to next. While it isn't bad to be different or visually interesting,  it should be encouraged, 2D Mario games don't need as much of a reason because people buy more for the game, then the 💜experience.

1 3D: B༺etter Look ℱ

3D Mario has helped define what we think of Mario. Its environments helped shape the look of the characters that are loved and even helped in bringing on the modern era of g𓃲aming. Compared to 2D graphics, even nostalgic, can't compare to the full visualization that comes fro﷽m a 3D game and the time it takes to fully animate and model it.

Modern 3D Mario games seem to have more thought put into the details than before to give the idea of something. From the clothing lines on👍 Mario's overalls to exactly how would a Boo's eyes glow.
