Still, it could be cool to offer a slew of non-Mario characters for fans of other series other than the few DLC inclusions like Link and the Inklings. It would certainly be neat to go beyond a simple Mii costume and have the real character who sports these outfits.

6 More Dynamic Courses And So𒁃nic-Style Vertical Loops

Given the lack of more dynamic, faster-paced 3D racers like F-Zero on the Switch, in addition to near-absence of the likes of 3D Sonic, some more thrilling tracks that draw🐭 from these games would be a welcomed addition.

Sure, we've got more meager boosts and tracks that tilt on their side on occasion. Yet, elements like faster boosts, larger ramps, and all-out loop-de-loops could make these tracks feel even more 3-dimensional and thrilling. Things like this would really make MK9 truly feel "next gen."

In fairness, there is definitely no shortage of great pre-made tracks to choose from, ranging from classics like N64's Royal Raceway to flashy modern settings like Sunshine Airport. Regardless, offering some sort of level builder for Mario Kart 9 could go a long way to further fleshing out the gameplay options, while allowing gamers to flex꧋ their creative muscle.

While it might seem like a tough system to implement, anything is possible in the era of user-made content like Super Mario Maker 2. Perhaps a slew of basic track pieces, hazards, and decorative assets could be offered, whicﷺh players could draw from to build their playable, shareable courses. Imagine you and your friends partaking in a cool, chaotic stage you've personally crafted from scratch.

You could make the argument that the included Grand Prix mode and various challenges are sufficient for a single player to enjoy playing around with. Yet, what we'd really love to see is some sort of full-fledged story mode that contains a real, linear story, situational challenges, and maybe even boss face-offs. This is one of the reasons gamers loved the likes of Rare's Diddy Kong Racing - and this came out in the 90s!
