Nintendo fans are enduring the longest drought between Directs in recent history. Now that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been released, there are currently no more first-party Nintendo titles wi🦂th solid release dates for the Switch in 2020.

So far, 2020 has seen mini Directs for games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's DLC, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Sword & Shieldas well as an Indie presentation earlier in March, but ther🏅e hasn't been a full Direct this year.❀ Nintendo needs to host one and soon, as the schedule for the year is dry and Switch fans are growing concerned, especially in the wake of all of the Microsoft and Sony news regarding the next generation of systems.

The Era Of Animal Crossing & Tokyo Mirage Sessions

Nintendo entered 2020 with only a few big titles on the schedule for the Switch. January had 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encorewhich is a fantastic game but is a port of a Nintendo Wii U title. March saw the release of 168澳洲幸运5开奖💝网🐻:Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DXwhich is a remake of a Game Boy Advance/Nintendo DS game, and the juggernaut that is Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which could easily be Nintendo's biggest title of the year. In terms of first-party titles... that's it for 2020, not counting DLC f🐬or existing games.

The Games Without Dates

Bayonetta-3

There are some high profile Nintendo Switch games in development, some of which are first-party and some third-party, but they don't have solid release dates except for maybe "2020." There are games like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Bayonetta 3, Bravely Default II, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Metroid Prime 4, Shin Megami Tensei V, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a huge title, bꦯut Nintendo has been leaning on it for a while now. The game was initially meant to be released at the end of 2019, so no one is sure what the compa🎃ny would have done if it had shipped on time, as 2020 would have been bare.

Nintendo has proven that it will develop huge games but won't announce them until the year in which they will be released. As such, it's likely that Nintendo has a lot up its sleeve that it just isn'🀅t ready to reveal. The Switch is the weakest console on the market and it will become even more so when the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are released, but power is not always the key to success. The Switch's handheld/console hybrid gimmick has helped Nintendo ship millions of units around the world, and no amount of SSDs or ray tracing can compete with amazing first-party exclusives, which is where Nintendo's strength lies.
