In a recent , Nintendo has announced its partnership with the book publishing company, Random House. The famed video game company will be working with Random House Children's Books (U.S.) and Penguin Random House U.K. to deliver activity books based on Nintendo properties. The press release lists Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Splatoon, and Animal Crossing as the Nintendo f♛ranchises to get the activity book tr💞eatment.
From the press release: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Nintendo to bring the whimsy and adventure of these worlds to the imaginations of our young readers,” said Dennis Shealy, Editorial Director, Random House Books for Young Readers Licensed Publishing.“These activity books will let both new and established fans experience Nintendo characters in a whole new way.”
The press release notes that the partnership between Nintendo and Random House had already begun. On January 2nd of this year, Random House released the Official Sticker Book for both Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda. On July 3rd, Random House will release Mario Time! and Link's Book of Adventure for $9.99 each. Reading the official descriptions on Penguin Random House's promises both to be a "full-color activity book." Meanwhile, the Splatoon Official Sticker B♏ook will go on sale July 24th. Like the Mario and꧑ Zelda Sticker Books, this one will retail for $12.99.
The press release states that the "books in the publishing program include full-color pages with mazes, puzzles, trivia, and more—as well as stickers and other value-added inserts." Though not mentioned in the press release, also lists a book called "Nintendo Collection: Super Sticker Book: Volume 1" for pre-order, releasing September 4th. At first glance, it appears to be a combination of the Mario, Zelda, and Splatoon Sticker Books. Looking closer however, yields a curious observation: the price is $9.99, cheaper than the singular Sticker Books. Analyzing further, the Super Sticker Book is⭕ 48 pages, which is shorter than the singular Sticker Books, and also contains about 300 less stickers. Finally, it is titled as "Volume 1," so presumably this means that it only combines some of the material from the other Sticker Books, with future volumes doing the rest.
