Watch yourselves, Splatoon 2 players. Nintendo sees you, trying to hack your way to playable Octolings early, and they have mixed feelings about the whole situation. You won’t♐ like them when they’re angry, you really won’t.

So, Splatoon 2 is approaching the first anniversary of its release. The game first dropped on July 21 2017, a few months after the Switch itself, and quickly become one of the jewels of the line-up. At the time, fans didn’t have true heavy Nintendo hitters to sink their teeth into, beyond The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (which 🐎was not system exc💙lusive, also available for the Wii U).

Needless to say, it hit the ground running, and soon became That was only the beginning, though, as the game has come on in leaps and bounds in its lifespan so far. The Splatfest events of the original Splatoon return, settling age-old debates like Ketchup vs Mayonnaise, and a w𓄧hole plethora of content updates have thrown new stages, weapons and su🌠ch into the mix.

As we saw back in March, though, the biggest content update is still to come. The much-anticipated Octo Expansion is on the way this summer, bringing a whole new campaign of 80+ single-player levels (some of which bring 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a puzzly Breath of the Wild shrine flair to proceedi🦩ngs). Most importantly, for some, completing the Octo Expansion will allow players to join online matches as an Octoling.

The lure of this new ♈opportunity being too much to resist, to allow online Octoling play already. Needless to say, Nintendo are not best pleased about this whole situation, and are out to deal ဣquite heavy-handedly with players who hack their way to octopus goodness.

Over on , reports are surfacing that certain players have been identified as having used Octolings early, and have been locked out of the game’s online functions for doing so. around affected players, which begins with a cheery “Thank you for using Nintendo Switch.” Conversational pleasantries completed, Nintendo then hit the player concerned with the news that their violation, “cheating/hacking during online gameplay” is “a severe or repeated violation, so your usage of Nintendo Account services will be restricted.”

So, there it is. The interesting this is that this ban only affects the associated software, Splatoon 2, so there are ways aro�𓆏�und it, but still. It’s a clear message, if nothing else.
