The Nintendo Switch 2 was reportedly shown off b🅠ehind closed doors at Gamescom, but it has now come to light that this new console may have visuals on par with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and could even boast 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:DLSS and ray-tracing.
reports that Nintendo used 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Matrix Awakens, an Unreal Engine 5 tech demo, to showcase the capabilities of the next Nintendo Switch console. Up until now, this was an Xbox Series X and PS5 exclusive because it uses current-gen techniques such as the aforementioned DLSS and ray-tracing, something PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch cannot. Running it on the Switch 2 means that the console is not only a giant leap from the first, but it even matches Microsoft and Sony's newer platforms.
DLSS, for context, is a real-time upscaling technique used on current-gen consoles and RTX cards for PC. It allows you to run games at higher resolutions without sacrificing performance, which means thaꦛt the docked Nintendo Switch 2 may be able to handle higher than 1080p. Ray-tracing, meanwhile, is a lifelike rendering technique that casts li💖ght, reflections, and shadows in real time.
also reported that the new Nintendo console was shown behind closed doors at Gamescom, describing it as a "Switch 2". On top of the Unreal Engine 5 Matrix demo, Nintendo reportedly showed off an improved version of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Legend of Zelda: Breatಞh of theℱ Wild. However, it stressed that this was a tec🐎h demo and does not mean that there wil𝓰l be a remaster for the Switch 2.
These showcases were reportedly given to key partners, it's unclear when Nintendo will go public and announce the console. VGC claims that it will launch in the second half of next year so that it can build up enough supply to avoid similar shortages to the Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
Likewise, VGC describes this new console as a Switch successor rathe♉r than a wholly new platform. Reportedly, it can be played docked or handheld, but it will allegedly use an LCD screen rather than an OLED one as the newest Switch model does. This is to bring down costs as it will need more storage to run higher fidelity games.
Reports also claim that the new Switch will not be digital only and still feature a cartridge slot. Whether this means it will be backwards compatibility still isn't clear. Until Nintendo officially announces the console, we can only speculate. But with the Switch 2 supposedly launching as soon as next year, we might not have to wait long to hear details from N𝓡intendo itself.
