The figures don't just include the Switch, although the popular console is obviously the main reason for the uptick in Nintendo's Thanksgiving weekend numbers.

Overall, Nintendo sales were 45% higher when compared to the same weekend in 2017. Shockingly, all of those impressive figures might still not be enough for Nintendo to achieve its lofty targets. The gaming giant is aiming to ship 38 million units when it comes to the Switch by the end ꦚo💜f the financial year. Analysts are currently predicting it will fall short of that goal.
The reason Switch sales are predicted to take a downturn heading into the new year is simply because there aren't enough big titles on the horizon. Nintendo has hung its hat on Pokémon: Let's Go and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but in 2019, there's not a lot to look forward to. Hopefully, Nintendo has something up its sleeve, and it's simply waiting until the hype surrounding the two games above t𒐪o die down before breaking the news.
