A recent error in the Nintendo Switch's wishlist system is allowing its users to make realistic pages within the eShop, an issue that could lead to an increase in fake leaks. So far, this exploit only allows game♛s from previous Nintendo systems to show up in𒁃 the listings.
The bug is incredibly easy to abuse, and the screenshots are coming directly from the eShop, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:no Photoshop required. People that own both a computer and a Nintendo Switch can create one of these le🌳aks in just a few minutes.
The bug begins on , where users can add games from Nintendo's listings to their personal wishlist. The games that people are ♓able to add are not limited to Switch titles and can include WiiU and 3DS games. The problem is that these wishlists are linked to users'༒ eShop accounts.
When someone adds a title to their wishlist on Nintendo's website, the game is also added to a wishlist on their Switch's eShop. When viewing these lists on a Switch, some games from the 3DS and W🗹iiU will appear as though they are available on the Switch. The server pulls information from the website a𒈔nd adapts it to fit the format of the Switch's storefront.
These fake listings include screဣenshots, prices, and a description which can all seem incredibly convincing. However, these games are not available for purchase, and it is always more imp🉐ortant to pay attention to Nintendo's official announcements rather than anonymously posted screenshots.
The Twitter user who posted about their discovery of the glitch, , found that the bug worked for a variety of games, including Pikmin 3, Paper Mario: Color Splash, and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux. Their unintentional discovery may lead to many more fake leaks in the coming weeks before the exploit is hop﷽efully patched.
To our knowledge, this bug can only be used to create links surrounding already existing games on previous Nintendo platforms. People that abuse the exploit can only create listings for potential ports, not entirely new games. There most likely will not be a realistic listing for Halo: Infinite popping up on the eShop anytime soon.
