The celebrations for th🧔e 35th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. series are underway, and it has started with the Nintendo eShop, which has received a Mario-themed makeover.
Switch fans around the world have complained about the Switch's eShop since the launch of the system. The eShop is one of the most barebones digital storefronts out there, and it's still lacking basic features that people have been asking for since 2017. Nintendo's goal with the Switch's UI is to keep things as small as possible, in order to ensure fast-loading, especially compared to the horror show that was the Wii U's home screen, so it makes sense that the eShop is basic. The digital storefront did receive a small update recently, as it now 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:displays when sales are going to end.
The Switch's eShop has finally received a visual update, as it now has a Mario theme, to go with the other announcements made 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:during the recent 35th anniversary for the Super Mario Bros. series. The side menu of the eShop now has a banner feat🐈uring the logos of all of the Mario games.
The loading animation of the eShop is also new, as it has an animation of the blocky version of Mario from Super Mario 64 running to the side. This is apt, considering that Super Mario 64 will be included in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection, which is due to be released in the next couple 🔯of weeks.
The Switch's eShop is functional, but it's lacking in terms of visual flair. The fact that it now contains Mario-themed visuals gives us hope that we could see other updates in the future. At the very least, it gives us hope that th⛄e eShop will receive other updates that are related to the service itself, and not visuals. Dare we hope for the day that the Switch has more themes outside of dark/light, or that a web browser could be on the way? That little running Mario sprite could mean a lot of things, or it coꦓuld just be a one-off promotion.
