Platinum Points have been around for a while now, they're a bit different from Gold Points. Gold Points can be traded for discounts on the Nintendo eShop whereas Platinum Points can be traded for exclusive rewards such as wallpaper and even physical items.

Nintendo Switch Online subscribers now have an exclusive way of earning Platinum Points every week and it's extremely easy. This is all part of the update that the Nintendo Switch Online section of the console received.

If you've never noticed the Nintendo Switch Online section on your console, you can find it on the console's HOME menu. The Nintendo Switch Online section is in the bottom left corner of the HOME menu, next to the notification section.

There you will find all the missions available and how often you can complete them. If you're not sure how to do them there's even an option that you can click that says "How To Complete" and it'll tell you exactly what to do to receive your points. They're pretty easy and usually only require you to play a game or simply open it.

Th♚ere are tons of frames, characters, and backgrounds tha💝t you can get.

Each month will𒅌 have a different theme, so games will come and go. Animal Crossing New Horizons and Mario Odyssey rewards will be available until April 3rd. While Mario icon elements will rotate every week, Animal Crossing icon elements will be around all month displaying all March birthdays. Likely, each month the villagers will change ♑according to their birthdays and Mario Odyssey will be replaced by another game.

How To Obtain

If you visit the Missions & Rewards tab of the NSO section, you can check out all the available themes at the moment. Select the character, background, or frame you'd like to obtain and confirm your selection.

How To Create A New Icon

Using the NSO section on your Nintendo Switch's HOME menu, go to the Missions & Rewards tab. Next to your Platinum Points section, you will see a menu that says "Create an icon." You can create and save tons of icon combinations in this menu.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to mix various themes so once you select the + symbol to make your new icon, you'll have to choose which game you'd like to use for the icon. Once you select the icon, you will be chosen premade icons that you can either pick, choose to see more, or opt by creating your icon.

If you'd like to create your icon, you will have to select the game, the frame, the character, and the background. Once you're happy with your decision, confirm it by selecting "OK."
