After 🎃months of speculation, Nintendo has finally announced the official release date for the Nintendo Switch Online service. They had previously stated that it was coming in the second half of September, and we𒐪 now know the exact date is the 18th of September, 2018.
This announcement was made on Twitter, with the being updated to reflect the new i🍒nformation.
The Nintendo Switch On💦lin෴e service will also come with a 7-day free trial once it launches.
The paid online service for the Nintendo Switch was first announced when the console was unveiled to the public for the first time. Since then, the service had been delay🌳ed by almost a year, wit🌳h Nintendo offering free online play for all of the games on the Switch.

There is also a great deal we still don't know about the Nintendo Switch Online service, with the free games being a prime example. We are supposed to receive twenty free Nintendo Entertainment System games at launch, yet, we only know what ten of those games are as of right now. The official website for the s𒈔ervice promises that more games will be added sporadically, but we still don't know how regular the new additions will be. Perhaps other Nintendo consoles will be free on the service.
A recent datamine of an upcoming firmware update for the Nintendo Switch has revealed controller icons for both the Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Nintendo controllers, which means that we may be seeing Super🧔 Nintendo games being added to the service in the future.
Nintendo has been vague about the upcoming online service for a while now, to the point where many fans were starting to wonder whether it was ever going to launch. It seems like they fi🐓nally have their ducks in a row and will be ready to reveal what is in store for the future of the Nintendo Switch and the fate of the virtual console.
We are due to learn more 🦋details about the service during the next Nintendo Direct, which is presumed to be held on September 13🃏th.
