Nintendo Switch continues to prove itself as the plucky little hybrid handheld that could. In its home arena of Japan, the PlayStation 4 remains ahead on𝔉 lifetime sales (it does have a significant head start, after all), but recent evidence demonstrates that it may actually edge Sony’s system out. Sooner rather than later, too.

Now, compared to the poor old Wii U, the plucky hybrid handheld is doing phenomenally well. It surpassed its predecessor’s lifetime sales around the world 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:way back in January this year.

Console rivalries being what they are, there will always be those who look down on the Switch. As is Nintendo’s way, it’s not a console powerhouse, it doesn’t have the biggest third-party titles (the hardware isn’t beefy enough for the barnstorming 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Monster Hunter World, for instance), 2018’s release schedule simply is just a slip of paper that reads “wait until December for Super Smash Bros”— you know, the usual smack talk.

However, you feel the hybrid handheld is serving your gaming needs just now, there’s one thing nobody can deny —  it’s doing phenomenally in Japan. This is no surprise to anyone, of course, except for jඣust how well it’s doing.

As reports, Sony has sold around seven million PlayStation 4s in Japan since the system’s release in 2014. The Nintendo Switch, meanwhile, has only been on the market since last year and is right around the five million mark. It’s a super impressive run for sure, and it doesn’t look as ♍though it’ll be long before Switch catches up.

Considering the PlayStation 4’s general worldwide dominance, this is even more impressive. What matters for Nintendo now is keeping that momentum, continuing to court third-party developers (which has long been the Achilles heel of their systems) and not bungling the launch of upcoming Switch Online system 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:more than they already have.
