With how stat focused the modern world has become, it's no surprise that modern consoles have started counting the hours we spend playing games. Both the Switch 🦩and Xbox One provide concrete data for how long you've engaged with particular games on the platforms (similar to what Valve started with Steam years ago). It's kind of insane when you see 500 hours and realize that's almost 21 full days!
Still, wouldn't it be fun to know how much time you've spent playing your Switch this year? Even if you're asking the rhetorically, Nintendo has created a new website that will let you accomplish that 👍very task. Called the "," you can now sign-in with your Nintendo Network ID and get some quick readout of the titles you spent the most time with during 2019.
This isn't the most elaborate of fact sheets, but it's a fun gesture. Twitter is absolutely exploding with people posting their stats an✱d comparing how dedicated/enslave🦄d they are to the Switch. I even got in on the fun, though I'm surprised I didn't play for more.
There's nothing to win by checking out the website. Nintendo isn't holding some contest or giving you a prize for playing Hyrule Warriors an obscene aꦡmount of time🍰. This really is just a cute little website so players can get a better idea of how much they are using their Switch consoles.
As you may noteꦍ, though, the 3DS actually had an application like this built into the system software. Called the "Activity Log," it provided a clearer idea of time spent in-game, how many times each game was booted up, and even how it ranked on your console with regards to total hours. It was incredibly in-depth for somethi🌞ng most people ignored.
It's interesting that this website gives you a clear idea of which days you spent playing. That's something no other stat tracking application has. Maybe some people didn't realize Saturday was their favorite day and will now make it a weekly 💖ritual.
Whatever you do with the info, at least you n♚ow have it. Knowing is half the battle...or something.
