It seems players are very eager to die and die again. Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have announced that shipments and digital sales of Nioh 2, the sequel to its masocore 2017 hit Nioh, have topped two million total units. In addition to that feat, the series has moved a combined total of around five million units, making it relativ𝔉ely successful.

The news came about on Twitter, with Team Ninja giving fans a morsel of what's to come next. "Please look forward to the next new title from Team Ninja," reads a rough translation of the Tweet. That's unlikely to be a Nioh 3, as Nioh 2 director Fumihi𝓀ko Yasuda previously stated that Team Ninja was finished with the series for now. We probably𝓰 won't be seeing this deadly sa💞murai game again for a number of years.

That doesn't mean you should get all depressed about Nioh. Team Ninja is clearly happy with the results of both titles and is even holding a Twitter contest to celebrate the occasion. Anyone that follows the official Nioh account and retweets the tw🃏o million sales message a Kodama figurine, a Sunekosuri plush, a poster, a set of goodies (including key🌠chains and pins), or a Nioh 2 branded hoodie.

It does seem like the contest is limited to Japanese residents, but there's no harm in trying. The worst thing that will happen is you summo♔n a Yokai to your house an꧂d get murdered a bunch of times.
