Hack-n-slash brawler 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nioh has shipped three million units since its release in 2017. Developer Team Ninja announced the news on the game's official Twitter account and thanked fans for enjoying the title. It even took time to promote Nioh 2, t😼he upcoming sequel that's set for release in early March.

"Nioh, which recently celebrated its third anniversary, surpassed three million in worldwide shipments," reads the Tweet. "Thank you very much to everyone who enjoyed the game. Its sequel Nioh 2 releases March 12, 2020. We'll deliver the best 'Sengoku death game,' once aga꧑in."

Last year at roughly the same time, Team Ninja had revealed that Nioh shipped around 2.5 million units in two years. While sales have slowed down a bit, three million is really impressive for a brand new IP. The Team Ninja name may have helped push the game, but the company hadn't done anything truly noteworthy in a long time. Its previous release, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, didn't even get a western release.

Thankfully, fans didn't let a few missteps stop them from enjoying Nioh. The breaꦦkdown of sales across both PS4 and PC wasn't 🐎revealed, but the game likely did better on Sony's platform. Japanese gamers are known to go more for console games and titles like this have a bigger presence on console hardware.

It isn't really hard to figure out why people enjoy Nioh. Its mixture of Souls-like combat with an Edo period setting made for an incredibly original take on history. That the plot featured actual historical figures in fictionalized roles was also a treat. It was like the video game equivalent to Forrest Gump, just with more action.

The sequel, which is actually a prequel, will likely overtake this original in sales numbers. With roughly three million fans waiting for more, Team Ninja is likely expecting big things. It's uncertain if a third iteration will come out with Team Ninja having expressed a desire to create an original 🅺IP for the PlayStation 5.

If Nioh 2 is the end, then at least it looks to be going out with a bang. ꦿBring on the weird, creepy, undead/zombified Japanese cr🍎eatures.
