Kicking ofꦦf CES 2020 this year, Nvidia and Asus have announced that they will be releasing a 360 Hz monitor for consumers in the coming months. Boasting an unheard of refresh rate for a gaming display, this will be𝓡 possibly the fastest monitor you can buy on the market. It will also come packed with Nvidia's proprietary G-sync technology for a tear-free image.

This new 360 Hz display (which has ꦬyet to be given a name) is around 37% faster than current 240 Hz monitors, boasting an additional 120 frames per second. With a response time of less than three milliseconds, this really is shaping up to be an excellent monitor. Sadly, it will be limited to 24.5 inches and 1080p resolution, though that will e🤪nsure players will properly experience its insane refresh rate.

For competitive gamers and esports players alike, high refresh monitors are a way of life. Framerate is key in titles like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, DOTA 2, League of Legends, and Overwatch, so players of these games tend to grab specialty monitors f💝rom the likes of Dell, Asus, BenQ, and AOC. Boasting refresh rates well above convention equipment, they offer a tangible edge to players that can perceive the difference.

Having owned a 240 Hz display for a few years now, I definitely prefer higher refresh rates. They won't make you a better player by default, but having faster technology in your display will ensure that games can render images most consistently and smoother. It even helps with general 🍸fluidity of games, making action titles feel lightning fast.

Still, there is only so high a⛄ refresh can go before the difference is imperceptible. Many note that most players don't feel anything beyond 144 Hz, so 360 seems like an arbitrary increase to sell some new tech. It definitely sounds impressive from a pure numbers standpoint, but it might not provide a tangible benefit to people that aren't professional gamers.

Even if the number is just a randomly selected one, G-sync technology is absolutely a game-changer. Being able to have a display sync to a variable frame♋rate makes all the difference when certain engines aren't optimized well. Maybe you won't need to grab this specific display to get that feature, but definitely track down something with ei🔥ther G-Sync or Freesync capabilities. You'll be surprised at how great it is.
