The Chorrol Recommendation is begun by making your way to the Mages Guild building in Chorrol. Once inside, speak with Teekeeus. At first, he will deny your request for a recommendation, so pick the option to speak about Earana. Teekeeus will then ask you to talk with this disgraced mage, thus beginning the Fingers 🍌of the Mountain questline.
Finding Earana
Earana can be located either in the streets outside the Mages Guild building or in the Gray Mare in town. When you have located Ea💖rana, she will ask you to find a book, mysteriously named Fingers of the Mountain. To progress this quest, agree to find the book. She will give you some directions and send you on yo♕ur way.
Here is the first choice you will face in the quest. If you wish you can return to Teekeeus and te✃ll him of Earana’s search for this book. If you do, he will tell you to give it to him rather than her.
Locating Fingers Of The Mountain
To find this book you will need to head to Cloud Top. This is a mountain and ancient fort found northwest of Chorrol.
Once there, travel up the path, always turning left when the path forks. Eventually, you will come to a burnt corpse, the book is located here. To continue this quest, and gain your recommendation, you will need to make a decision, give the book to Earana or Teekeeus.
Give The Book To Teekeeus
Giving the book to Teekeeus is the quickest way to get your recommendation and several fame points. Simply return to him at the Chorrol Mages Guild b♑uilding and hand over the tome. This will allow you to continue the mai🌃n story of the Mages Guild.
However, the story does not end there. The game will direct you back to Earana. Here you can tell her that you gave the book to Teekeeus, and this will not go down well. She will then demand that you steal the book for her. This can be done by sneaking into Teekeeus’ room at night and looking inside his chest. Agreeing to this will start Fingers of the Mountain Part Two. If you refuse, it will end the questline, allowing you to go on your way. If this is the path you wish to take, give the book back to Earana, and wait two in-game days. She will tell you to wait a day, but 24 hours is not enoug🥀h.
Give The Book To Earana
The results of this decision are directly inverse to choosing to give the book to Teekeeus. Once you give the book to her, wait two in-game days and then return for payment. Just as if you made the opposite choice, you can confess your actions to Teekeeus. Return to him and tell him of your decision. He will request you steal the book back for him. To do so, head to the Gray Mare and steal the item from Earana’s chest. Return to Teekeeus and he will forgive your betrayal, granting you a recommendation and allowing you to continue the Mages Guild questline.
How To Get The Fingers Of The Mountain Spell
To get an extra reward for this quest, you will need to complete its second part, The Fingers of the Mountain Part Two. Now, before getting started with this next journey, make sure you have a shock spell equipped and that you have a Welkynd Stone. The latter item can be found throughout the many ruins in the game. Once both of these items are obtained, return to Cloud Top. In the center of the ruins, you will see a collapsed pillar, cast your shock spell on it.
You will be struck by a powerful bolt of lightning following your casting, so make sure you have some potions at the ready. Following this, the game will tell you that you have been granted a powerful new spell. With that, you will have gained both the Chorrol recommendation and the extremely powerful Fingers of the Mountain spell.
