With over 20 classes to choose๊ from in Oblivion Remastered,ꦛ which one is the best?

By competing in gruesome battles, you'll rise through the ranks, earn some gold, and improve your combat skills. If you can reach the champion rank, you'll earn the right to take on the reigning champion–the Gray Prince. Here's everything you need to know about the arena to succeed and become the best of the best꧅.

How To Bet On Arena Matches

When you arrive in the Imperial City, you can head to the arena to watch matches and bet on them. Speak with Hundolin at the entrance, next to the large coffer. You can place a bet on the blue team or the yellow team for either 25, 50, or 100 gold.

The odds are 50/5🐼0 either way, so go with your gu🀅t.

Once you place your bet, head into the doors on the right and get ready for the📖 match. Two combatants will enter the arena and fight to the death. Chat with the others watching, grab a snack, and watch the spectacle.

After the match ends, you can collect your winnings from Hundolin if your team won. You'll collect double what you bet, so if luck🐽 is o🍬n your side, you can make some good coin.

How To Become A Combatant

If you're ready to take the next step, you can head down into the Bloodworks via the door on the left of Hundolin. Speak with Owyn in the training room to get started. Tell him you want to be a comb𒊎atant, and while he doesn't think much of you, he'll give you your uniform.

Choose from a Heavy Rainment or Light Rainment. Y♉ou'll need to wear it to fight in the arena.

Talk with Owyn again to start a new match. He'll brief you about your opponent, then send you up into the arena. Make sure 🍷you're prepared before diving in, as there are a few rul൩es to follow:

  • Matches can only be held between 9AM and 9PM.
  • You cannot loot the bodies of the fallen, nor take their weapons.
  • You can't place a bet on your own match.
  • You must wear your arena rainment and cannot change or remove it during a match.

Head up the ramp to the arena, go through the doors, and approach the bars for the an🔴nouncer to get started. After he delivers a brief introduction to rile ꦓup the crowd, the bars will lower and it's time to fight.

Keep your wits about you and stay moving. Your opponents won't go easy on you as it's a duel to the death.

Once you defeat your opponent, head back down into the Red Room and use the basin to replenish your health and stamina. Rinse and repeat to rise through the ranks from Pit Dog to Grand Champion!

How To Defeat The Gray Prince

Informing Ysabel that you've challenged the Gray Prince for the title.

After becoming the Blue Team's champion, you can speak with the Gray Prince himself, Agronak gro-Malog, to challenge him. He'll accept and send you to Ysabel to set up the match.

You'll get to pick a title for yourself, which you'll be known as across Cyrodiil. Pick your favorite and get ready for the battle. This time, you can wear whatever armor you want, so bring your best gear.

Combat In The Arena

Standing behind the bars of the arena, waiting for a match.

The match will go like most of your previous battles, except Agronak is set at level ten. If you're below that level, he'll be difficult to take down on average difficulty. If you're on easier difficulties or above level ten, the challenge goes down significantly. Bring potions and healing magic to ke🐲ep yourself alive, as Agronak will not hold back.

He's going to defend his title, and that ends in you being broken on the floor.

To put distance between the two of you, keep running in circles backwards around the arena. Just make sure to watch out for the wooden stakes around the edges that will skewer you if you get too close.

Keep whittling away at the Gray Prince's health, as his enchanted armor will give him plenty of defense. Once he goes down, remove his rainment and bring it to Ysabel to receive your own Rainment of Valor.

Origin Of The Gray Prince Quest

If you'd rather the fight be easy, you can complete the Origin of the Gray Prince quest prior to your match. This can be started by speaking with Agronak at any time prior to becoming the Champion.

Agronak will send you to a castle ruin named Crowhaven with a key. Enter the ruins and delve past wolves and rats to reach a locked chamber. Use the key to enter and slay the man inside–Agronak's father, Lord Lovidicus.

Be careful,🔥 as Lord Lovi𒁏dicus is a vampire! Unless you want to become a vampire yourself...

Despite his undead power, he's greatly weakened. He goes down rather easily and you can grab his journal from his desk on the second floor. Bring it to Agronak to learn a few new fighting moves and break the unꦦfortunat✅e news.

Knowing his true origins, the Gray Prince won't fight you in the last match. Instead, he'll simply stand there and allow you to kill him. He'll even beg you to do it, regardless of how many strikes it takes.

This can count as murder, but it won't always. Regardle⛄ss, you🉐 won't get a bounty for it.

After becoming the new Grand Champion, you can schedule weekly matches against monsters with Ysabel for extra gold.

The Adoring Fan

The Adoring Fan praising the Grand Champion outside the arena.

Upon defeating the Gray Prince, you'll leave the Bloodworks to find an adorably cheerful elf. He pleads with you to bring him on your adventures, letting him follow you around just be in your presence as long as he lives.

He'll gleefully accompany you and comment on your journey as you go, and if you ever get tired of him, you can tell him to leave or take matters into your own hands. Be wary, though, as you may catch the attention of the Dark Brotherhood.

If you kill the Adoring Fan, or he mysteriously dies somewhere, he'll reappear in three days' time outside the arena.
