In recent years Sony has made a few moves that have showcased its commitment to larger game☂ development over smaller, more nic💛he products.
In the spirit of remembrance and hope that the console manufacturer does not leave weirder IPs in the dust, the following list details some PlayStation exclusives many may have forgotten a🌸bout.
10 ꧟ Gravity Rush
Gravity Rush first came out on the PS Vita before a remaster brought it to PS4. Utilizing the system's motion control mechanics and touch screen features was fun and the game was enjoᩚᩚဣᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚyed by many.
The s🦋equel came out exclusi🌌vely on the PS4 and admittedly did not make enough strides to differentiate itself from its predecessor. Had it done more to evolve the format, it might have had a chance at being a premier Sony property. However, the aesthetic and characters of Gravity Rush 2 are still just as irresistibly charming.
9 Hot Shots ജGolf
Known in Japan as Everybody's Golf, the Hot Shots Golf series does the impossible and makes Golf entertainingꦫ for th♎ose who have no interest in the sport.
Everybody's Golf for the PS4 allows players to roam around a course, adding more to the game than just the sport. The original came out in 2017 and 2019 saw a VR entry in the series, which seems like a perfect fit for golf. H🅘ere's hoping the franchise comes back o♛n the PS5.
8 💖 Legend Of Dragoon ജ
JRPGs were plentiful on the original PlayStation, and SquareEnix was mostly heading the charge. Japan Studio's Legend of⛦ Dragoon did some original things with the format, utilizing some timing within battles similar to Super Mario RPG.
The game had a huge budget for the time and sold surprisingly well in North America. No sequels ever came to fruition, though the game is thankfull𓃲y available as a PS1 classi🧸c, at least for the time being.
7 Patapon
Patapon barely makes sense at first glance. The series is a mixture of strategy elements along with several facets of rhythm games. Players not only have to giv🍒e proper commands to their units, or Patapons♔, but they also have to do it with perfect timing to get the best result.
The series'168澳洲幸运5开奖网: home was on the original PSP,ไ but the🅰 first two entries have since been remastered on the PS4.
6 🐼 PaRappa 🐼The Rapper/Um Jammer Lammy
These two rhythm games came long before Harmonix 🦩revolutionized the genre with plastic instruments.🌺 Both games are joys to go through, though Um Jammer Lammy will strike the fancy of anyone who enjoys kitschy rock music.
Parappa has at least gotten sequels and re-releases, but Um Jammer ꦫLammy only got one re-release as a PlayStation Classic. Buy this PS1 classic and enjoy it today before it's too late.
5 🎶 White Knight Chronicle♚s
The White Knight Chronicles series🐈 mixes single-player RPG action with a more involved multiplayer experience. Fortunately, at least the games will be playable in some form even after servers shut down.
Developer Level-5 is also known for the Dark Cloud series, and White Knight Chronicles utilizes a similar feature of building towns, which oth🉐er players can then visit. Reviews were somewhat mixed on both titles, though they are unique enough to be played as a novelty.
4 🍒 Ape Escape ♔
On the original PlayStation, the first Ape Escape required the DꦦualShock's two analog sticks in oಌrder to play. Where other platformers task you ♛with collecting mostly stationary collectables, Ape Escape has you chase the titular animals around impressively model🎀ed 3D worlds.
The series has since left the limelight, though Metal Gear fans fondly remember the crossover the two series had with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Metal Gear Solid 3's release.
3 Vi🉐b Ribbon
This game and its subsequent sequel were stuck in Japan all the w🧸ay until 2014. The genius of the PS1 Rhythm game is how you can open the disc tray, insert your own CDs, and pla💟y along to your music collection.
It's quite genius and came out long before the days of DLC. Fꦿortunately, this unique feature made it onto the PS3 when it came out on PSN in 2014. Th𒅌ough rhythm games are not as popular as they used to be, we'd love something similar again.
2 LocoRoco
Do not ever criticize Sony properties for lacking color or for only appealing to adult audiences. LocoRoco is as colorful a platformer as they come. However, naysayers will 👍be proven right if n🤡o future games in this series come to fruition.
Players control the titular creature as it expands and mul💧tiplies, which then a🧜llows you to command separate entities to complete puzzles and challenges. The soundtrack is also infectious. The main series never left the PSP, though remasters eventually came out for the PS4.
1 💜 Legend Of Legaia
Certainly one of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:most underrated RPGs for theꦫ original PlayStation, Legend of Legaia utilizes a unique combo-based battle sys♒tem for its turn-based combat. The unique magic system has you absorbing certain abilities after you defeat enemies.
Unfortunately, the game does not play properly using the PS2 and PS3's backward compatibility, so playing this one legitimately is a difficult endeavor꧑. It is a shame few ꦺgames borrowed the battle system, except for its inferior sequel.
