It seems like the plan to bring Pillars Of Eternity 2: Deadfire to consoles has been in lꦐimbo ever since the PC v♏ersion of the game failed to catch on as well as the original title in the series.
However, despite low sales on PC, Obsidian has that Pillars Of Eternity 2: Deadfire will be making its way to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Ninte🤪n🍬do Switch sometime in 2019.
Obsidian tacked o𓃲n the at the end of a blog post that detailed the latest DLC expansion, The Forgotten Sanctum, which coincides with the release of patch♐ 4.0. While no specific release date other than next year was given, the post did note that the console editions will in﷽clude all available “expansions, updates, and free DLC's” at launch.
Czech Republic-based gaming developer♔ and publisher, GRIP Digital, will be the 🌠studio to port Pillars Of Eternity 2: Deadfire to consoles.
Besides poor PC sales, th🅠e console release of the follow-up to 2015’s Pillars Of Eternity was also thought to be in jeopardy after Microsoft acquired Obsidian earlier this year. Many people wondered if the game would be brought to a non-Microsoft console, if at all. Obviously, now we know🍒 that the answer is yes.
For what it’s worth, Pillars Of Eternity 2: Deadfire has been a success amongst thওose who have played it, receiving from outlets such as PCgamesN and USGamer. The game has averaged a rating of 🍒“Very Positive” on since its release in May 2018. The game also has a rating of 88 on , which is only one point below the original game’s score. Especially if you were a fan of the first Pillars Of Eternity, it’s likely that the seque🐭l is at least worth checking out.
While the PC version of Pillars Of Eternity 2: Deadfire hasn’t quite hit the sales mark, hopefully𒊎 the move to multiple consoles will extend its reach to a larger audience. Will the move be enough to bring Pillars Of Eternity 2: Deadfire out of its current flop status? Only time will tell.﷽ But hopefully, for the sake of the game’s fans (and the supporters of the game’s kickstarter campaign), it will be enough to at least break even with its sales.
