Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Los♚t Realm - Golden Edition has been released on Apple Arcade, bringing with it the biggest update ever for the mobile game, featuring two new expansions along with quality of life improvements. The game was originally exclusively released on Apple Arcade in 2019, so the additional content and improvements of performance, graphics, 💖game mechanics, and level design are welcomed additions to the game, coming sooner than most may have thought. Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realജm - Golden Edition is one of the best action fantasy RPGs available on Apple Arcade right♏ now, especially for those who are always 🎶on-the-go, or younger gamers just beginning to cut their teeth on the genre.

Welcome To Arcadia

Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm is the prequel to the original game, Oceanhorn: Monsters of Uncharted Seas. However, players don’t need to have played t♑he original g♋ame to dive headfirst into Oceanhorn 2. The story follows a young knight as he ventures t🌜hrough the vast, open-world region of Gaia, defending the land of Arcadia. Along the way, he is joined by two other playable characters, Trin - the granddaughter of Arcadia’s leader, Archimedes - and Gen - a robot that𝓀 lends his massive Samurai weapon to the action. The three adventure through Arcadia as they try to thwart the plans of the evil Warlock Mesmeroth and his Dark Army.

Along the way, players will take on quests, encounter puzzles that need to be solved, and tactical battle sit๊uations allowing for hack ‘n slash combat as well as utilizing magical spell abilities through a radial menu that most RPG players will be famiꦍliar with in terms of an interface.

That's Gold, Jerry! Gold!

Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm - Golden E🐎dition brings additional content that will add plenty of value for those who have already ventured through the game, ꦿwhile new players will be able to experience everything at once. The game co🐽mes with two expansions: The Shield of Chronos and The Criminal Hunt, which brings new main quests, side missions, dungeons, characters, and, of course, new i♐tems to snag. The Golden Edition also comes with an expanded e💫🐠nding with never-before-seen scenes that connect Knights of the Lost Realm with Monsters of Uncharted Seas.

The update also comes with quality of life improvements that fix former bugs and improve overall gameplay while adding an o🐬ption 60 FPS mode. For those interested and able to run the mode, it is absolutely worth it. Oceanhorn 2’s graphics look great as it is, but upping the FPS enhances everything to a level I was not expecting on my iPhone. A new physics-based water simulation was also added with the update, and honestly, water-based explorations were my favoriteﷺ moments of the game simply due to how great it looked.

Inspired By, But Not Quite Zelda

While the platforming and movement mechanics are fine over𒈔all, jumping is not an ability in Oceanhorn 2. Jumping♋ occurs automatically when a character encounters a gap or an object that is no taller than the character’s shoulder height. The absence of a jump definitely takes some getting used to, but you’ll eventually get used to it. You might just not want to play any other platforming games in between sessions of Oceanhorn 2.

Other than that, Oceanhorn 2 has all of the working pieces to create a successful RPG. Players can collect loot and upgrade their gear, while increasinဣg their character's stats and special abilities. The inspiration drawn from the Zelda franchise is pretty apparent, and while it’s certainly not a substit🅰ution for a Zelda game, Oceanhorn 2 can definitely be considered a solid option for mobile players - though playing the game with a controller makes it as clos🥂e to a console game as you can get on a mobile device or Apple TV.

Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the♊ꦰ Lost Realm - Golden Edition has over 20-hours worth of content, which makes it a good choice for players looking for a game to commit a decent 🐈amount of time to. I don’t gဣenerally gravitate towards the RPG genre, but Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm - Golden Ediꦺtion is definite🌜ly a game t🌌hat I’ll be continuing to play whenever I'm on-the-go.
