October’s Biggest Video Games, Ranked By Metacritic Score

In what might have been 2018's most anticipated month 💯for gaming, October was, at the very least, a month that gamers have been waiting for. Big name, long-awaited titles were the theme of the month, kicking off the holiday season with plenty of ways for gamers to stay busy indo♏ors.

7. Starlink: Battle For Atlas

Starlink: Battle For Atlas is an open-world space shooting adventure in which players create custom ships and battle evil in an effort to save the star system of Atlas. Players can play alone, 🦩or through a cooperative mode, as they partake in large-scale, incredibly satisfying space battles. Starlink: Battle For Atlas shines with its animation style, which is sure to please young and old players alike. 6. Mega Man 11

After eight long years, fans are rewarded with a proper revival of the Mega Man series with Mega Man 11. Strong level design and rewarding boss fights combine with updated graphics and ꧒new gameplay mechanics🔥 to give fans the Mega Man game they’ve been craving. While there are some rather tedious and frustrating moments, fans of the iconic Capcom character will not want to miss this one. Mega Man 11 is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PCꦛ.

5. SoulCalibur VI

Whether you are a savvy veteran or a newcomer 🍒to the series, SoulCalibur VI provides a fun fighting game experience with considerable depth. Battle strategies focus on swordplay, while custom character creations add fun, albeit somewhat controversial fighting dynamics. Evꦜen those who don't necessarily gravitate towards the figh🃏ting game genre might be able to find something to enjoy in playing SoulCalibur VI. 4. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

The Black Ops series of Call of Duty returns, packing in multiple modes to keep players busy. And while the average User Score may not i𝕴ndicate a resounding success amongst pla🐷yers, Black Ops 4 does maintain a highe🌜r rating than the previous game in the series. Black Ops 4 brings back signature 🌠multiplayer modes such as Search and Destroy and Gun Game, while returning with a revamped Zombies mode. Though, arguably, the largest draw for the game is its new battle royale mode, Blackout. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC🐻.

3. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Assassin’s Creed returns with Odyssey, ta🦄king players through ancient Greece on a quest to become a legendary Spartan hero. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey features a🅘 large, beautifully designed open-world with a compellin🅘g storyline. However, some of the game’s complaints stem from the grinding nature of the game, making it 🤪difficult and relatively unpleasant to reap any of the game’s more attractive rewards. Odyssey also plays more like an RPG than previous games in the series, but is worth picking up for die-hard fans of the franchise. 2. Forza Horizon 4

Metacritic Score: 92 / User Score: 7.7

Forza Horizon 4 knocks it out of the park in the fourth game in the popular racing series. Players can roam the shared open-world, with dynamically changing seasons, as they collect over 450 cars. Visuals, controls, and even the game’s sound design is impressive, whether p𒀰la꧂ying online or in single-player offline mode. Forza Horizon 4 is clearly the best game in the franchise and is a must-own for any Xbox One owner. Forza Horizon 4 is available exclusively on Xbox One.

1. Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 comes in as the number-one rated game for the month of October, which should really come as no surprise. The highꩵly-anticipated title is a masterpiece, and possibly Rockstar Games’ most impressive work to date. Its simple gameplay dynamics balance perfectly with the game’s incredible attention to detail, creating a vast, open-world experience that gamers can immerse themselves in for days. Literally. Red Dead Redemption 2’s single-player story takes more than 60-hours to complete, but the time is well worth it. Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
