Take a deep Sai at the terrible pun we just made and get ready for Castti's next revelatory quest in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Octopath Traveler 2. Here in the Far West, which is really just Solistia's rendition of the Far East, our healer will befriend a grumpy soldier and learn more about her own mysterious group, Eir's Apothecaries.
This quest comes complete with a dungeon, a boss fight, and a tidy little moral message at the end. It's also a pretty good place to level up a bit if you're struggling with the game. Let's get started!
Town Phase: Sai
Welcome to Sai. It's a grim town, though as is the case with most settlements in Octopath Traveler 2, you'll get somewhat different flavors of it via separate characters. In Castti's case, we'll be focusing on how the war has really done a number on this poor place.
Explore town, Inquiring on everyone you can find. Castti wants to provide aid for the injured here, so our goal is the tents to the northwest and the healer inside them. The woman here is another apothecary, albeit one who is unaffiliated with Eir's Apothecaries. Just the same, Inquire on her, and you'll find out more about Castti's past.
You'll soon meet Edmund, who is, in a word, abrasive. He doubts Castti's ability to help, or maybe even her sincerity in wishing to do so. We'll set him straight, right? After the scene with Edmund, you will be able to go west enough in Sai to reach Sandflow Pass, an area which had been previously barred by guards protesting the arrival of citizens in a war zone. (Fair.) Let's head to Sandflow Pass.
Dungeon Phase: Sandflow Pass And Sandlion's Den
We're bundling the 'real' dungeon together with this newly-available route, as both locations include combat encounters. You wouldn't know it at first, what with Sandflow Pass seemingly secured by Edmund's troops, but there are random fights here against local beasts. It's nothing to worry much over so long as you're around the quest's recommended level, but worth noting just the same.
The goal is to keep heading west through a couple of screens until you reach a spot where Edmund falls through a pit of quicksand. You'll learn more about the war and the soldiers on both sides in the meantime. We liken this to Octopath Traveler 2's 'war never changes' chapter, though it might have been nice to learn more about the ideologies separating the two sides of the conflict. Perhaps there's something to be said for not knowing.
Keep an eye out for the Strengthening Serum and Empowering Lychee (M) while you're here. Also remember that if you have Throné and/or Temenos with you, there's just cause to choose nighttime fights, either to buff your team or debuff the enemy's, respectively.
Castti being Castti, she'll gladly chase after the swallowed-up Edmund, and we'll reach the Sandlion's Den in short order. The Sandlion's Den is a short dungeon even by Octopath standards; you're pretty close to the save point (use it!) and the fight that follows.
Boss Phase: Sandlion
The Sandlion has fairly high HP, with weaknesses to the following: Axe, Polearm, Ice, Light, Dark. That means Castti's equipped with Axes and Ice right off the bat - possibly more, if you've given her a good secondary class for the fight. If you haven't, don't worry; your allies should be able to shore up weaknesses.
Sandlion's biggest threat is its high physical attack, though it has pretty good speed as well. What this means is you'll likely find yourself on the defensive if you aren't careful; being careful in this case means dedicating someone to full-time healing duty. Since Castti's with you by default here, that may as well be Castti - though make sure to poison Sandlion with her apothecary skills to maintain some damage-over-time.
That said, you're effectively operating underpowered for much of this encounter, as the Sandlion can capture a party member and prevent you from being able to use them until you break it (reduce its Shield Points to zero). Whenever this happens, there's nothing for it but to fight with a team of fewer than four members until further notice.
Just look at poor Ochette. She didn't sign up for this nonsense. Anyway, our best advice to quickly and cleanly counter this is to conserve BP so that you can rapidly shatter the Sandlion's Shield Points when this occurs. That'll get your team back in full, and of course, you'll want to unload on it with whatever you've got at your disposal thereafter.
Town Phase: Sai
You'll be brought back to Sai after the battle. The last thing you need to do this chapter is to use Inquire on the rescued Griff, who will unlock a rather harrowing memory of Castti's. If you've already completed her Winterbloom route, you'll understand somewhat more here; if you haven't, well, you won't, but you soon will.
