If you recently picked u𒉰p the popular Oculus Quest 2 VR headset, you can rest easy knowing it won't be replaced any time soon. According to Andrew Bosworth – VP of Facebook Reality Labs – the Oculus Quest 2 Pro is already in developmen𝔍t, although it won't see the light of day until at least 2022.
As far♐ as the Oculus Quest 3 is concerned – well, it doesn't exist. Bosworth made it clear during a Twitter Q&A session that "there's only a Quest 2." However, there are "a lot of things in development" regarding the upgraded Quest 2 Pro, but Bosworth i🎶s adamant it won't release until 2022 at the earliest. Bosworth then goes on to say, "Quest 2 is going to be in the market for a while – for a long while."
The brief answers – 🏅 – will come as welcome news to anyone who picked up the affordab🐈le and popular Quest 2 over the past few months, although the VR community is no doubt curious to learn more about the mysterious Quest 2 Pro. Unfortunately, the Q&A was light on specifics. For now, we only know it won't be arriving in 2021 but should eventually bring several enhancements to the already powerful Quest 2.
Oculus Quest 2 continues to be one of the most popular VR headsets on the market, due to its combination of affordability and wireless-free gaming. Unliღke most other VR headsets, you don't need to connect to a PC or console – just strap the headset to your face and you're ready to game. It's also one of the most affordable options on the market, with a price t♔ag starting at just $299.
While the headset is a vast improvement from the original Oculus Quest, there's still plenty of room for further upgrades. A stronger ♛process and better display are the obvious candidates for an upgrade with the Quest 2 Pro, but until Oculus gives us an official ꦕreveal, the product will remain a mystery.
The Oculus Quest 2 Pro won't launch until at least 2022, with the currently-non-existant Quest 3 to follow at a later 💟date.
