10 ꦜ Spider Queen

Mural Artwork of the Spider Queen From Okami

The Spider Queen is the boss of the Tsuta Ruins. She needs to be defeated in order to rescue Ume, Kokari's dog, after fishing up the key. While her monstrous form is ugly and gargantuan and seems intimidating at first, she becomes a bit of a pushover once you become aware of her gimmick.

Surrounding the arena are large bulbs that you can use Vine on to draw towards the hooks on her abdomen, allowing you to open it up and attack her weak points. She attacks by either charging at Amaterasu, shooting a web that can stun you, conjuring an apparition of Orochi that shoots energy at you, or climbing her web and creating an exploding poisonous egg. The egg can simply be Power Slashed to stun her and open her weak spot again, so while the Spider Queen may look scary at first, it doesn't take much to stop her in her tracks.

9 Crimson 🌳Helm

Mural Artwork Featuring the Crimson Helm Boss in Okami

The Crimson Helm is the boss of the Gale Shrine, a large, bull-like demon with flaming red armor wielding two, giant blades. It a🎃ttacks Amaterasu by charging the blades with fire, performing a ground pound, or charging at her directly. But even though a giant fire cow with swords is pretty intense, the tools in your arsenal are more than enough to take him out.

Hitti꧃ng the armor enough times will cജause it to fall off, revealing a flaming skeleton. You can simply blow the flames away with Galestorm to damage him, and repeat this process until he is defeated.

8 Tube Fox♊es

Concept Artwork Featuring the Tube Foxes From Okami

The Tube Fo💟xes are more enemies than bosses, but a certain group of them can be encountered within the Water Dragon after removing the Dragon Orb. Here, you have to fight three waves of the enemy in order to progress, the first two of which have three foxes and the last of which has two, for a total of eight.

The thing that makes them tricky is their ability to drain Amaterasu's ink supply very quickly. They mainly attack with slashes and bullets, so it is recommended that you keep your distance to focus on damaging a few at a time. An Inkfinfity Stone or two might also come in handy.

7 Blight

Mural Artwork Featuring the Blight and Goldnail Boss in Okami

Blight is a suit of armor infected by the demonic sword, Goldnail, which is using its power to spread a deadly, poisonous mist all around Sei'an City. It is found within the body of the Emperor and must be defeated in order to rid him and the city of the mist. Although it is very powerful and is rather creepy, staying one step ahead of this boss is actually rather easy.

The mist surrounding it makes it invulnerable to damage, but once it readies its attack, you can use the Veil of Mist technique to knock Goldnail out of the armor's grasp, leaving it vulnerable to attacks for a few seconds. Simply repeat this until is defeated. It can also conjure a ring of blades, but you simply have to Power Slash the blue one.

6 ♍ Canine Warriors

Artwork Featuring Princess Fuse Surrounded by the Eight Canine Warriors

The Canine Warriors, or the Kusa 5, are a group of eight canines that are the guardians of the𒀰 Satomi House in Kusa Village. They must be found across the village and brought to Princess Fuse to dispel the barrier b💧locking the way to the Gale Shrine, though you will have to fight a few to convince them to return.

There is an optional boss battle against the main Kusa 5 and the three other Canine Warriors scattered throughout the game. Defeating them grants you a Stray Bead from Princess Fuse. The battle occurs in three waves, the first of which pits you against four Canine Warriors who can use the Satomi Power Orbs to temporarily makes themselves invincible and deal large damage; the second pits you against Gi, Jin, and Chu, who can dig holes that trap Amaterasu, and set off explosions with the Brown Rage technique; and finally Tei, the leader of the Canine Warriors who is much faster and stronger than the rest. Stay on your toes and try to use your attacks from a distance to take them do🦄wn one at a time, and you should be golden.

5 Lechku And Nechku ꦍ

Official Artwork Featuring the Twin Demons Lechku and Nechku from Okami

The Gold Demon Lechku and the Silver Demon Nechku are twin demons who slaughtered the Oina Tribe and serve as the final boss battle of the game's third major story arc, which takes place in Kamui. Amaterasu has to team up with Oki against both demons, a battle that can easily be conquered through focus and timing.

Both Lechku and Nechku att𓄧ack by summoning and firing objects from their hats, picking you up and throwing you to the ground, as well as using their ability to slow time. They are completely invincible until they are dropped to the ground, which can only be done by hitting the object from their hats with the appropriate Brush Technique, and firing Oki at them with the bow. It should also be noted that the only Brush Techniques that can damage them are the ones that actually knocked them down.

4 Ninetails

Official Artwork Featuring Ninetails from Okami, Weilding the Ninestrike

Ninetailsꦿ is one of the major antagoni🤪sts of Ōkami, and the final boss of its second major story arc, and the ruler of Oni Island. You need to draw its constellation in the sky at the end of the dungeon to begin the battle in a false heavenly realm.

Ninetails will mainly attack by headbutting, using its Ninestrike sword to slash at you, and shooting poison from its tails, but its main perk is that it is a total copycat. Any time you use a Brush technique, Ninetails will counter with its own brush techniques! You'll have to finish quickly to stop them. When Ninetails raises its Ninestrike into the air to prepare an attack, use Thunderstorm to electrocute and split it into 9 diminutives of Evil Rao. Defeating 8 will revert Ninetails into its true fox form, which can only use the charge attack and the Ninestrike.

3 Orochi

Mural Artwork Featuring the Orochi from Okami

Orochi is one of the main antagonists of Ōkami and the final confrontation in the first major story arc. The fight with Orochi requires you t💙o make full use of nearly every tool in your arsenal to slowly but surely break the serpent down. When the battle begins there is a barrier protecting Orochi that you will have to dispel, which can be done by using W꧟atersprout to send the 8 Purification Sake into three of its roaring mouths. This will cause all the heads to fall and let you climb onto its back to attack the bell, destroying the barrier.

After this, it is merely a matter of attacking and counterattacking. Each of Orochi's heads using a different elemental power that must be countered with a mix of Celestial Brush Techniques and Divine Instruments. This will cause the respective head to roar, once again leaving it open to the 8 Purification Sake and damage. Doing this with all 8 of the heads takes some time, so your best bet is to not rush and take each one down slowly with the proper counter.

2 ❀ True Orochi

Mural Artwork Featuring True Orochi From Okami

The true form of the demonic, eight-headed serpent, True Orochi is fought much later in the game. You have to travel 100 years in the past in order to face this form of Orochi. Carrying out the events of this battle is what leads to the story of♚ Ōkami happening, as the legendary Nagi fights with Shiranui to defeat the demon.

This battle is actually almost exactly the same as the first battle against Orochi; the main differenc🌄e is that Orochi is slightly more powerful this time around. Nagi comes by to help deal the killing blow instead of Susasno but other than that, do exactly🌜 what you did to defeat Orochi before.

1 Yami

Official Artwork of Yami's Final Form in Okami, Fought in the Ark of Yamato

Yami is the main antagonist and final boss of Ōkami, and the true enemy of Amaterasu. He is the supreme rulerꦺ of all evil that plagues the land and is encountered in the Ark of Yamato, the final level of the game. The main thing that makes this battle so difficult is that Yami litꦆerally takes all your powers away and forces you to regain them over the course of the fight, slowly but surely gaining an edge over them.

On paper, this sounds straightforward, but that does not make the tasks any less daunting. Yami has five forms that it cycles through as you gain more abilities, and you'll need to make use of every single Brush Technique, Divine Instrument, and determination that you can get your hands on.
