168澳洲幸运5开奖网:LittleBigPlanet is back online after its servers were taken down last May thanks to a hacker sending abusive messages to random players. The issue was severe enough that Sony took down LittleBigPlanet's servers last May to resolve the issue, but then kept them offline for the past four months.
In May, #SaveLBP and #FixLBP began trending on Twitter 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:after multiple hacking incidents. The first happened in late 2020 when a single disgruntled LittleBigPlanet fan launched a one-man DDOS attack that brought down LittleBigPlanet's servers. After that, an unknown hacker gained access to LittleBigPlanet's infrastructure and started sending abusive and hateful messages to random players.
Sony took the drastic step of taking down LittleBigPlanet's servers entirely to prevent these attacks, and they remained offline until just yesterday when the official LittleBigPlanet Twitter account announced they were relaunching with a new update.
LittleBigPlanet update 1.27 includes backend security fixes that will hopefully prevent future incursions on PS4, but that's the only platform that was fixed. "Unfortunately, we need to permanently shut down our online services for: LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet (PS3), and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita."
Sony , "We have no doubt that this news will come as a big disappointment to a 🌼lot of you, ultimately🌄 this is the best way to protect the LittleBigPlanet community and to help ensure that our online environment remains safe."
In a follow-up tweet, Sony confirmed that although online services for older LittleBigPlanet games 🎃were being retired, you could still play LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet (PS3), and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita . Also, older community levels from pre🧜vious games .
Still, the sudden server closure must be a blow to fans of the series. It seems likely that Sony looked at the older games’ player counts and compared it to the effort needed to fix the security holes and decided it was simply more cost-effective to retire those older servers. A similar calculus happened for Metal 🍨Gear Solid 5 o𒆙n the PS3 and Xbox 360 recently. A shame, but no game lasts forever.
