Chrono Trigger has its fair share of incredible dungeons, but the be🌃st one of all is Magus' Castle (also known as the Fiendlord's Keep in later translations of the game), which has some of the greatest enemies and songs in video game history.

Magus' Castle await꧋s the playe💞r at the end of a long questline, where Crono and his friends must reforge the legendary Masamune, find the Hero's Badge, and convince Frog to take up the sword and cut the sealed path that leads to Magus. After fighting through a cave full of monsters, the party lays siege to Magus' Castle.

From the moment when you approach Magus' Castle and it pans up its walls to the statu♒e of the dragon on the roof, the developers are telling you that this location🎶 is something special.

Magus' Castle is straight out of Castlevania, with its gothic architecture and long hallways that a𝓰re littered with enemies. Ozzie threatens the party when they enter the castle, telling them that they must face the 100 monsters that reside within its walls, and it's easy to believe him. Magus' Castle is filled with all kinds of foes that manage to be colorful, memorable, and imposing all at once.

Magus' Castle has some memorable puzzles, including the imposters of people the characters know and Ozzie's attempts at making them fall into a trap. The dungeon also has some great loot, like the Dark Mail and the Mist Robe, as well as some great 🐼healing items, so it's worth facing the dangers of the castle. The players should seek out all of the items they can because they're going ⛄to need them for the struggles ahead.

Music

Magus Chrono Trigger Cover

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Chrono Trig✱ger has one of the best 💝soundtracks of its era, and can easily com꧑pete with the likes of Final Fantasy VI. The 600 AD era might have the best songs on the OST, with "Yearnings of the Wind" being one of the standouts.

Magus' Castle has some amazing tracks, including "Magus' Castle" and "Strains of Insanity", which help build a slow feeling of dread. The soundtrack constantly reminds the player that the party is in unfamiliar territory and is outnumbered at every turn. There is no help on the way, no cavalry to save the party if they fall in battle. The attack on Magus' Castle is an all or nothing affair, and the music helps create that feeling and keep it active all the w๊ay through to the end.

"Battle with Magus" plays during the final boss fight of the dungeon, and it's one of the be𒈔st themes of its kind. It starts out with the same building senseಌ of dread, before transforming into an epic song that matches the tone of the fight taking place.

Bosses

Magus' Castle has four boss battles. The f꧙irst battle is against Slash, who a sword-wielding warrior, making him an anomaly among the spellcasters that the party faces throughout the dungeon. The Slash battle is fairly simple, but it ends on a high-note, as the player is able to acquire his Slasher sword and give it Crono, which will 🌟likely be the strongest weapon he can use up to this point.

The second boss is Flea, and it's still surprising that he made it through Nintendo's strict censorship policies of the era. Flea identifies as male, but presents himself as female, which is something that appeared in the game almost un꧂changed. Flea might have been a step forward in terms of representation, but he was a nightmare to face in battle. The reason for this is Flea's love of inflicting status effects, allowing him to charm, confuse, poison, and put party members to sleep. This makes Flea one of the trickiest boss battles in the game, but careful preparation can make the fight a lot easier. The third boss battle is against Oz🔥zie, and this is just a comedy/puzzle fight. The player needs to hit the switches around Ozzie, until one of them causes a pit to open up and send them tumbling to the depths of the dungeon.

The final boss battle against Magus 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:could be the highli🌳ght 🌜of Chrono Trigger. As the party approaches Magus, blue flames appear and cr🅰ea🍌te a pathway, while the sound of his chanting fills the air. The party comes across Magus standing within an arcane circle before a demonic statue. After trading insults, the battle begins.

Magus' gimmick is that he has a magical barrier that prevents him from being harmed by magical attacks that don't share the element of the barrier. The game forces the player to use Crono and Frog during this section of the game, so it's impossible to have every element covered, meaning that the party is going to b🔴e taking damage. Frog has the ability to lower Magus' defenses by hitting him with the Masamune,ജ which means that the other party members have to focus on healing and breaking through Magus' barrier, so every single action counts.

The fight against Magus is easily 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the hardest battle in Chrono Trigger up to this point, and players can expect to be beꦛaten a few times before taking him down. Defeating Magus requires the player to use every tool at their disposal and put every strategy they learned up to this point to good use, otherwise, he'll annihilate the pa🧜rty. The Magus battle caps off one of the best dungeons in video game history, and the rest of Chrono Trigger struggles to match that standard of excellence.
