Part of this is achieved by sheer numbers, the Marines have more active members than any other organization. Numbers alone aren't enough to capture the strongest pirates though. Although much of the rank and file are normal people, some members of the Marines are incredibly strong.

In a world where the Marines have to contend with the likes of Red-Haired Shanks and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Monkey D. Luffy, they need heavy ꧅hitters of their own to compete. Read below to find out just who the strongest Marines are.

12 Koby

The Hero

Koby may be the character in One Piece with the most dramatic power increase, going from being one of the weakest and cowardly characters to being labeled as the future of the Marines by Monkey D. Garp hims♋elf.

Years of training have transformed him from a cowardly cabin boy into a remarkable fighter, able to use ♈Rokushiki, Armarment Haki and Observation Haki. This, along with his trai🥀ning under Garp, marks him as one of the strongest Marines of the current time.

11 Sentomaru

Science Unit Captain

Sentomaru's position as the Captain of the Science Unit afforded him a unique level of control over all levels of Pacifista, including the Seraphim, that was only exceeded by a few individuals. That didn't make him strong, but it indicates that he was strong enough to be trusted with it.

He has incredible physical strength, fighting with a Haki enhಌanced sumo style. His strength and Haki were both so notable that he was able to send Luffy flying with considerable ease before the timeskip.

10 X Drake

Dino-Might

"Red Flag" X Drake is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:one of the so-called Worst Generation, 12 pirates who emerged in prominence after the Summit War of Marineford. Presented as a defected Rear Admiral, it was only revealed later that he was still allied𝔉 with the Marines, and his role as a pirate was part of an undercover operation.

Drake is a skilled swordsman but best known for using the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Allosaurus. Being able to transform into an ancient dinosaur grants him increased size and strength, with teeth and jaws powerful enough to bite right through the armour of a Pacifista. He was so strong that he infiltrated the top ranks of the Beast Pirates and was high in the estimation of their Captain, Wꦦarlord of the Sea Kaidou.

9 Smoker

All Smoke, No Mirror

Smoker the White Hunter is a Marine Vice Admiral, the third-highest rank possible in the organization. That alone should be a testament to his strength, but it's backed up by the fact that he has beaten protagonist Monkey D. Luffy on multiple occasions thanks to his tricky Devil Fruit ability of turning into smoke.

He's had less impressive showings post-timeskip, but his losses came at the hands of very impressive opponents. Smoker is still one of the strongest Marines around and is generally considered by fans to be guaranteed to hold an Admiral position someday — maybe even Fleet Admiral.

8 Ryokugyu

Green But No Rookie

Ryukugyu, real name Aramaki, is one of the three Marine Admirals. Raised to the rank during the time skip, this marks him as one of the strongest combatants in all of One Piece. Although he's displayed impressive Haki abilities, it's his Devil Fruit power that really makes him a danger🧔ous opponent.

Ryokugyu uses the Mori Mori no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that lets him create, control, and transform into all manner of plant life. Described as a Forest Human, he's been seen impaling people on wooden thorns, draining the moisture from them, and regenerating his flora-body at will. Unlike other Logia users, he can't become intangible but his regeneration more than makes up for that.

7 Kuzan

Cold As Ice

Better known by his alias when he was an Admiral, Aokiji, Kuzan isn't actually a Marine anymore. He defected after losing the fight for the Fleet Admiral position to Akainu, becoming a pirate and joining up with Marshall D. Teach. Despite hanging up his white coat of justice for casual pirate chic, Kuzan was one of the strongest Marines in the world during his tenure as an Admiral.

One of many charact🌞ers trained by Monkey D. Garp, Kuzan is a prime example of how Garp trains people to be monstrously strong. Coupled with his Haki, 🌄Kuzan also makes expert use of his Devil Fruit, the Hie Hie no Mi. Able to create, control, and transform into ice Kuzan is able to freeze most opponents in place before the fight even begins.

6 Fujitora

Justice Is Blind

Fujitora was granted the rank of Admiral during the time skip to replace the defected Kuzan and promoted Akainu alongside Ryokugyu. What is interesting is that he wa💟s also conscripted into the Marines during this time, making his rise to the rank of Admiral truly meteoric.

Although blind, Fujitora is able to use his other acute senses and Haki to fight on equal footing with any opponent. His Devil Fruit, the Zushi Zushi no Mi, gives him full control over gravity.♚ He can increase the gravity around someone to make it impossible to move, reduce gravity so he can levitate, and even ca🔯ll down meteors from outer space.

5 Kizaru

Light Fantastic

Kizaru, whose real nam🔴e Borsalino is great fun to say if you use his exaggerated slow drawl, is the current longest-serving Marine Admiral. Like all Admirals, he is a skilled combatant with mastery of Haki, but he𓆉 has one of the most powerful Devil Fruits in all of One Piece.

The Pika Pika no Mi lets Kizaru create, control, and transform into light itself. He can create laser beams and blind his opponents but most impressively, it allows him to travel at the speed of light. For reference, that means he can move at 186,000 miles per second. This incredible speed is why he's known for speaking so slowly, he has to concentrate on slowing himself down so anyone can even understand him.

4 Sakazuki

Hotter Than Hell

Better known as Akainu while he was an Admiral, Sakazuki holds the highest rank of any Marine. As Fleet Admiral he commands the entire Marine forces, answering only t🔯o the World Government Commander-in-Chief and the Five Elders.

Empowered by the Magu Magu no Mi Devil Fruit to become a Magma Human, Sakazuki is a merciless combatant. He's such an intimidating foe that Blackbeard fled from even the chance of encountering him when he wasn't fully prepared, despite Blackbeard having two separate Devil Fruit powers of his own at the time.

3 Kong

Top Of The Food Chain

Kong previously held the highest rank in the Marines, Fleet Admiral, but was actually promoted even further to the position of World Government Comౠmander-in-Chief. That means he oversees not only the Marines but also the Seven Warlords, Cipher Pols, and Enies Lobby.

Although we haven't seen exactly how strong Kong is in either the manga or the anime, his tenure in the Marines and high rank suggest he has to be incredibly powerful. He was active during the days of legends like Rocks and Gol. D Roger. No one rises through the ranks of the Marines during that era without being seriously strong.
