Throughout Nibel, the 🌠gorgeous world you explore in , you find several Map Stones that were once used to chart the lands. However, Map Stone Fr🍸agments have gone missing from each, meaning it’s up to you to locate them to fill out the remaining sections of your map of Nibel.
Completing a Map Stone will provide Ori with a grayscale map of that area, coloring in slowly as you explore each one. For help finding each of thꩵe eight Map Stones and their corresponding Map Stone Fragments in Ori and the Blind Forest, follow on ahead.
How To Use This Guide
Since your Map Stones and Map Stone Fragments are separate things with separate locations in Ori and the Blind Forest, we'll need to separate them in the guide below in order to keep everything straight.
We took Ori and the Blind Forest area by area in our guide. Each area of the game will contain a map marked with a star to denote where the item we're guiding you to within that area can be found.
We'll first direct you on how to find the Map Stone Fragments, since you can't use the Map Stones without them. This will be the first map for each area you'll play in throughout Ori and the Blind Forest, and we'll follow with specific instructions to locate them.
Many of the Map Stone Fragments are hidden and look as though they're outside the boundaries of the map. We'll direct you on where to go in any such occasion.
Then, after you're able to access it, we'll show you on the map where the Map Stone itself can be found in the second map, followed be꧟neath by writt𝄹en instructions on how to get there.
Sunken Glade
Map Stone Fragment Location
You’ll need to take the long way around this map segment by g🌌oin🌺g to the left and navigating through the puzzle here.
At the end of the puzzle is a switch that, when pulled, lowers a board that you can use to wall jump. Jump across the board that lowered to find a small platform to the righ💜t, and gr𒅌ab the Map Stone Fragment.
Map Stone Location
Drop down from the platform where you got the Map Stone Fragment and use the wall to jump back up toward the right side of the corridor just beneath the Fragment.
Simply head right down this corridor and take the lower path when it splits, and you’ll find the Map Stone down the dead-end lower path.
Hollow Grove
Map Stone Fragment Location
Use the jump pads to climb over the large tree in the center of this section (being careful of the enemy at the top🌠).
Once you’re safe to land, jump to the wall on the left and use it to slide downward, then jump off toward the right side of the scr𒁏een just under the platform you jumped from. The Map Stone Fragment is within the tree itself.
Map Stone Location
With this Fragment in hand, hop back over the platform toward where you began, and jump down toward the corridor on the right once you reach the bottom.
The Map Stone itself is within this corridor.
Thornfelt Swamp
Map Stone Fragment Location
Getting to the platform marked by the star on the map above requires swimming down and reemerging in the pockets of air above the water in this section.
Catch your breath on the platform in the rightmost section to which the water opens, and then jump down from this platform into the water again.
Once you’re under, wait for the press to the right to time out so that you can swim straight through 🐎without pause.
The Map Stone Fragment is in a small opening in the rocks just past the press.
Map Stone Location
The Map Stone itself is back at the top pf the swamp. Swim back up to the top of the large water section you swam down to find the F🐭ragment to begin navigat🦋ing to the Map Stone.
Once you’ve resurfaced, head toward the left. Ther꧂e’s an enemy in your way, but the Map Stone is just past it.
Moon Grotto
Map Stone Fragment Location
At the area marked on t💖he map overv🌸iew above, you’ll find a section of sliding platforms. Beneath the bottom platform is a vertical rock that you can jump to when the platform sections are not connected.
Land on the vertical rock, waಞll jump to the platform section on the left when it’s withdrawn, and use this as leverage to wall ju🎀mp onto the tall vertical rock.
From there, yo𓄧u can jump to t♔he left to find the small platform with the keystone.
Map Stone Location
Get back up to the top-most section of the platforms in this section of Moon Grotto, then head off to the left from here.
You’ll find the large open area with the waterfalls in here, and the Map Stone is right in the basin.
Valley Of The Winds
The Valley of the Winds is a bit different from the rest of the areas of Ori and the Blind Forest, since you’ll need two Map Stone Fragments here instead of the usual one.
Both are marked in the map above, but we’ll detail ea🙈ch Fragment for you on its own.
How To Get The First Map Stone Fragment In The Valley Of The Winds
From the open area just under the Spirit Well, jump from the platform towards the left side of the area and glide. You’ll land on a wooden platform on the left.
Jump off this platform slightly towards the right, and use Kuro's Feather navigate Ori along the left-side of the area (along the wall support൩ing the platform you just jumped from).
Across from a ricke💝ty wooden plank is a small ope🌼ning in the cliff face that looks, as you’re guiding Ori down, like a small inlet in the rock.
Land on this little inlet and walk to the left to reveal thew Map Stone Fragment hidden within the rock.
How To Get The Second Map Stone Fragment In The Valley Of The Winds
The💞 second Map Stone Fragment is much easier to find. The area you’ll need to be is colored in green on the overworld map above.
Jump down to a small platform on the right side of this area, and you’ll see the Map Stone Fragment already from here, hidden behind a stone pillar.
There’s a rolling enemy just to the left of this screen. Jump down to the main level and bait the enemy into rolling toward you to attack when🐬 it’ll roll in such a way that it’s coming toward the stone.
Once the enemy hits the stone pillar and collapses it, jump down to grab the Map Sto𒉰ne Fragment.
This Map Stone Fragment is for the Map Stone in the Forlorn Ruins.
Map Stone Location
In order to access the Map Stone in the Valley of the Winds, you’ll once again need to bait a rolling enemy into opening a stone blockade for you.
Go left from where you got the second Map Stone Fragment, and bait the rolling enemy into following you into the lower section of this area.
Once it’s in a position where it can hit the stone pillar blocking your way on the right, bash the enemy so that it goes flying toward the stone pillar.
Afte🎃r the pillar has been destroyed, the Map Stone is just inside the corridor it’d been blocking.
Forlorn Ruins
Map Stone Location
In Black Root Burrows, you’ll need to have taken the steps to replace Naru’s Light. This is one of the first things you do in the area.
Once you’ve replaced the light, go directly left and jump across the large opening here. The Mဣap Stone is jus꧒t in the corridor opposite the statue.
The Map Stone Fragment that unlocks this Map Stone is the second of the Fragments from the Valley of the Wind.
Sorrow Pass
Map Stone Fragment Location
The Map Stone Fragment in Sorrow Pass is a bit tricky to reach, as even your map makes it look like i𒈔t’s outside the map’s boundari๊es.
To reach it, jump across the chasm just below the Map Stone Fragment on your map and bash off one of the falling rocks to reach the small platform in the upper-left.
Map Stone Location
The Map Stone itself is very easy to locate from w🧔here you grabbed the Fragment.
Simply drop down from the platform where the Map Stone Fragment was and jump into the chasm you jumped over to reach the Fragment.
The Map Stone itself is just on the left once you land down this small hole.
Mount Horu
Map Stone Fragment Location
The Map 🎉Stone Fragment you need in Mount Horu is no small feat to collect.
You’ll approach it from above in this top side-section of the map. In order to begin the sequence, you’ll need to trigger the rising platform by jumping over toward the open section on the left. Once you’re in its path, the platform will rocket upwards on the chains to try to squish you.
Ride the platform as it rises along the chains and jump toward the spikes and glide in place as it slams into the ceiling of the area to avoid being c🅘rushed.
Once the platform has fallen back down again, jump down onto it where it’s resting in its starting position, then quickly head to the left to find the🀅 Map Stone Fragment in a hidden section of this wall.
Map Stone Location
Back in the large, central section of Mount Horu, towards the top, you’ll need to do some careful gliding in order to get to the Map Stone.
From the upper platform in this section, glide around the lava pit and down into the corridor of spikes.
Dodging the fireballs in this area will take some doing, but you’ll notice a break in the spikes on the wall to the left as you descend. Aim for that, and the Map Stone is just behind it.
