Like everything else in Outriders, most of the side quests are "🥀Go here, shoot these things, come back," but there🐽 were some surprisingly awesome moments during the twenty or so hours of Outriders' main campaign. Here's a look at the best side quests.
10 🐻 Payback - Your Fiꦑrst Boss
Seems right to start off this list of side quests with the first boss in the game. The Payback quest is literally the second side quest available to the player, and it takes them on a mission through some of the gam🌠e's early grunts and ends up with a boss fight: Reiner, that evil captain from the beginning of the g𓆉ame.
Ultimately, this isn't a difficult fight, but it does introduce you to the boss-fighting mechanics of Outriders. Most of the human boss characters are Altered (like your character) and have special abilities. There isn't much to say about Reiner other than to shoot him. A lot. 9 Endless Dark - Some His🥀tory On The Outride♔rs
Your character is pretty keen𝐆 to find o𓆉ut what happened to the rest of his Outrider buddies. Now you're all powered up with special Altered abilities, you're strong enough to head back into Insurgent-infested city streets and uncover what happened to the other cryo pods.
This is another side quest that gives you another emotional dynamic to your character, who up to this point has spent most of their time making sarcastic comments and shooting stuff. We have to say: the mycelium and general design of this quest are pretty great. Gives off big Alien vibes. There's🌌 a reward at the end, of course.
8 No Place Like Home - One Singl♛e Tear ღ
It's clear the side quests were designed to inject a bit of emotion into the Outriders story, 🔯and this is the first real example of it in the game. This strange old man standing around at your camp asks you to rꦗetrieve some special stuff from his ruined pod in the First City.
So, you follow the ordinary Outrider𝔍s path of shooting stuff, fi♎nd the pod, only there is nothing there: just the graves of his family. He lets you keep some of the rare gear he just had lying around, and you leave the old guy sat talking to himself. It's an honest attempt at storytelling, but much like in other crucial story moments, your character doesn't seem to care that much.
7 Divineꦿ Intervention - There Had To Be At Least One Cult
It's post-apocalyptic, it's set on another planet far in the future: there just had to be at least one cult. The Divine Intervention side quest provide༺s. You're sent out to see what's happening to Dunham's soldiers a▨nd an eerie voice echoes out over the snowy mountains.
Thankfully, this cult is pretty weird. The cult leader has four faces. Four. They worship the anomaly and throw non-believers into the glowing ali💟en stuff. After seeing quite enough, your character does what they do best: destroy everything in their path. The quest ends with a decent boss fight and some rare loot.
6 Outriders' Legacy - Secrets And Legendary Loot ♚
This side quest is available in Trench Town and takes you through a bit of backstory on the way Enoch's inhabitants treated the Outriders. This is a long quest. There are several "Search" quests yoꦇu need to do before you get to the end. It probably takes around 40 minutes to complete.
Keep tracking the questline and as it takes you across different areas of the map. However, it's worth it for the loot: you get a Legendary item at the end. There are also a lot of chests in one of the large bunkers along the way. You could definitely repeat this quest, although it might not be the most efficient use of your time. 5 Predator To Prey - Some More Of Enoch's🦹 Angry Wildlife 🐭
This is quite similar to that earlier quest where you have to kill the giant Molten spider. Predator to Prey is found in Crystal Camp. Talk 🍒to the Hunter-looking lady (Juno) and she'll send you on a quest to hunt an aniꦚmal that's picking off members of her camp.
Predator to♊ Prey doesn't quite have the same cinematic quality ♋as the Molten spider quest, but the final boss fight with Tyrannus is still pretty fun. You get some decent loot at the end as well.
4 The Other Ingredient - Decent Quest To F🅺arm Resources
This quest requires you to have already rescued Dr. Zahedi and is accessed after you've already completed the Predator to Prey quest for Juno. The quest sends you on a mission to collect some tree sap, and you'll com▨e up against a mutant: the Tooka Beast.
The Other Ingredient is very easy to complete, especially if you spec into a gun loadout that lets you take down multiple enemies quickly (the flying enemies and grunts are more frustrating than the boss), and guarantees a few rare and epic drops. 3 𝄹 Shepherds Of Enoch - One OP Boss
ꦦShepherds of Enoch is one of the final side quests in the game and is actually pretty difficult. A⭕fter investigating a series of hieroglyphics, you'll eventually come up against the Shaman Warlord.
This guy is tough. Real tough. So tough that a lot of the guides out there suggest you put it back on World Tier One to get the quest out of the way. The Shaman spams abilities that deal a lot of damage and it can be quite a frustrating fight. Here's our guide to co𓆏mpleting🔯 the quest after we struggled with it for a couple of hours.
2 𝓰 Sins Of Our Fathers - One Last Quest
This final side quest in Outriders is available in Pax City🐼 when you investigate the 𝐆charred bodies on the floor. The fight is pretty easy (with waves of Ferals to begin with) but gets harder once the Warlords show up.
These guys are a complete laser beam. If y💮ou're playing on a high world tier we recommend you spec up an🙈d get ready for a proper fight. There is some decent epic loot at the end of the quest.
1 The Forgotteꦚn Chapel Secret Quest - LOOT! 🀅
