"So the business strategy now is always prioritize the live service game," he wrote on Twitter. "I know it wasn't an easy decision for the team but this just sucks man."
Expect these story missions to be standalone and self-contained stories that foജcus on a particular hero.
But before that arrives, Overwatch 2 will receive Season 5 with its Questwatch limited-time event and Mischief & Magic, a very noꩵn-canon fantasy-themed game mode. We can also expect a cinematic reveal (likely for the new support hero coming in Season 6) as well as the Summer Games, Overwatch's version of the Olympics. There will also be a 5v5 mini-competitive season, the return of the On Fire mechanic, and a creator workshop mode.
Season 6 will bring the paired-back version of Overwatch 2's story content, a new support hero, the return of Flashpoint, and Hero Mastery missions. There's also going t🤪o be a long-requested feature from fans: a new firing range. Player progression will get an overhaul, and Overwatch will once again celebrate its anniversary with its annual event.
Season 7 goes gangbusters on content. Expect a new tank hero, a new collab event and limited-time mode, a new control map, a new winter event, new Hero Mastery Missions, more cinematic debuts, a Lore codex, and the return of a fan-favorite game mode and Competitive Mystery Heroes.
