Blizzard’s charitable contributions are something to be admired within the video game industry. In addition to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Blizzard has partnered with other charitable organizations over the years, such as the American Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In fact, in 2011, Blizzard cofounder, Mike Morhaime, was for ”Nite to Unite – for Kids”; the Entertainment Software A🦩ssociation (ESA) Foundation's yearly philanthropic award recognizing ongoing fundraising efforts for Make-A-Wish.

It’s nice to see an event specifically designed as an all-in campaign for a cause that affects a significant number of lives around the globe. It is also refreshing that the Pink Mercy skin is available only as a one-time purchase, and is not included in any loot boxes. While devoted Overwatch collectors wil🦄l no doubt be on board with𝓰 the purchase, hopefully the charity event will bring in a more casual audience simply looking to do some good.
