Palworld is a survival game with all the trappings. In addition to base building and enemies to overcome in pursuit of productive life, you also have needs to take care of - of particular importance is hunger. Not only do you yourself have a hunger meter to keep track of, but so 💖do the Pals who you have with you in your party and working at your base.

These are the best survival games we saw in 2023.
Luckily, food is rather plentiful. From plantations to the Pals themselves,🍃 you can find sustenance pretty much everywhere you go - you might have to be clever about𒁃 it as you rack up the mouths to feed, though.
Palworld is in Early Access, so the details below may change ov🌳er development.
The Basics: How To Get Food
When you begin the game, you won't have much need of fancy food or cooked meals - y൩ou just need the basics.
- and can be found in the overworld - when you've found a large crop of them, note down their locations, as they will respawn a little while after picking them.
- Meat is a drop from many types of Pal. Chikipis and Lamballs are common, easy to defeat, and drop meat.
Raw meat is totally safe to eat in this game.
Once you pick up some food, it will be given a timer - when this food runs out, it will disappear forever. This is a means to stop you from hoarding food for long treks, almost forci♊ng you to learn how to cook for yourself or store food more efficiently.
For Pals to be able to eat food autonomously (in other words, without being fed directly by you), you'll need to build and place a Feed Box in your base and fill it with food.
Once you have a base with Berry Plantations, you'll be able to automate your farming using specific Pals.
How To Make Food Last Longer
Palworld is pretty generous with its food spoilage - whenever more food is added to a stack, even in storage, the spoilage timer resets. This means that as long as you have a constant stre🗹am of food coming in (for example, from Pal-automated farming), you'll never run out of food and manage to stockpile a massive amount that you can use to kickstart new bases.
However, some Pals will want better, more satisfying food than what can be easily farmed and will be unhappy if their diet solely consists of berries. For these, you'll want better food, and better food might rot. To combat this, you can store this food in a Cooler.
The Cooler is unlocked via a Level 13 technology and requires Ingots and Ice Organs to make. It will require a Pal w🦩ith the Cooling ability to operate, and 🤡the extended spoilage times will only be in effect when the Pal is working on it.
Pals cannot take food from a Cooler - they can only take food from a Feed Box.
