is looking like it's going to be a huge hit, as it's only been out for a few hours and has somehow managed to gather over 200,000 concurrent players on , which isn't even counting all of the players.

When Palworld was first revealed several years ago, it seemed like a funny parody that would probably never make it to release considering how close it was to Nintendo's own IP and how blatant it was at ripping it off. Against the odds, however, Palworld has somehow actually launched earlier today, and it seems that the long wait has attracted a lot of players.

Palworld brazenly copies from Pokemon, but does it so well thaඣt I can't help bu♕t love it.

Palworld officially launched on Steam around four hours ago as of the time of writing, and it's already managed to hit 230,000 concurrent players, . It's not too surprising considering how long the project has been in development and what it's trying to emulate, but it's still a big success in just a few hours.

What makes this number even more impressive is that it's not even taking into account how many players are going to be playing through Game Pass on consoles and PC. Anyone subscribed to Xbox Game Pass is essentially getting the game for free, so it's no doubt going to be the way that a lot of people get into the game.

Xbox usually doesn't share specific player numbers for Xbox Game Pass games, so we're not likely to find out just how many people are playing through that any time soon, but considering the Steam numbers are just rising and rising right now, there's no doubt that Palworld has kicked off in an incredibly strong way.

Xbox does occasionally share player numbers when they hit a certain milestone like it did after Starfield's launch, but considering Palworld isn't owned by Xbox, it seems unlikely it'll do so.

It's not just the player count for Palworld that's surprisingly great, either, . Literally, as it's currently sitting with the "Very Positive" rating on Steam with more than 800 reviews. Those reviews are based off of less than four hours playtime with the game, but that doesn't stop some players from saying that it "came out in a better state than pokemon scarlet/violet".
