The islands of Palworld are far-reaching and a little bit daunting. While it helps that our maps are partially filled out upon loading into the game for the first time, you can tell from the distance between map sections alone that the map is vast. To complicate matters, you'll have to cross oceans to get to distant areas on t💃he map.

Trying to swim from island to island might sound possible, but in Palworld, the oceans are one of the most deadly terrain types for humansꦗ. If you want to cross any body of water, you will need one of three very special mounts to do so.

What Are Swimming Mounts?

Palworld: The player rides through the ocean on Surfent's back

Swimming Mounts are special Pals that, when tamed and equipped with the proper Pal Gear, can be ridden and used to travel over bodies of water. You need Swimming Mounts if you want to travel on water without suffering from stamina drain and the effects of drowning.

There are currently only three Pals capable of being ridden over bodies of water.

How To Get A Swimming Mount

Palworld: The player and Surfent hang out at base

To get a Swimming Mount, you simply need to catch them like you would any other Pal. This may be difficult in some cases as many of these Pals are already out in the middle of lakes, rivers, and the ocean.

The main difference between Pals that can be ridden across water and regular Pals, is that Swimming Mounts cannot use their Partner Skill without the aid of special Pal Gear. Swimming Mounts also do not lose stamina when crossing larg💯eꦺ bodies of water, so they can glide over the water with ease.

Which Pals Can Swim?

There are currently only three Pals capable of becoming Swimming Mounts: Azurobe, Surfent, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Jormuntide.

Some of the Swimming Mounts also have boss and alpha versions for you to catch. These versions can also be ridden when equipped with the proper saddles.

All three of these Pals can be found in coastal areas or bodies of water and will not spawn entirely inland. To find the three possiblꩲe Swimming Mounts, head to the following locations:

What Pal Gear Do You Need For Swimming Mounts?

To ride Azurobe, Surfent, or Jormuntide, you need to have the appropriate saddle equipped. To get Swimming Mount saddles, you need to head to the Pal Gear Workbench and craft them like you would any other kind of Pal Equipmentℱ.

You can craft the three Swimming Mount saddles with the following recipes and at the follo𒉰wing levels:

Because of its low material requirement and relative ease of craft, the Surfent Saddle is the earliest Swimming Mount Saddle you can craft. Thus, Surfent is the easiest early-game Swimming Mount to obtain.

Tips For Crossing Bodies Of Water

Palworld: The player walks into No. 1 wildlife sanctuary

Swimming Mounts are not the only method for crossing water, but they are the most efficient, as you ꦓcan only swim for short distances in Palworld's waters.

Swimming drains your stamina almost as quickly as climbing, but whereas running out of stamina when climbing means you fall to the nearest ledge, running out of stamina in the water means certain death. If you run out of stamina when in a body of water, and you cannot reach land before your stamina bar fully depletes, you will die of drowning.

If you are riding a regular Ground Mount and trying to cross a body of water, your Pal may also die in the water when the stamina bar depletes. Regular Pals cannot swim.

Another method for crossing bodies of water without a Swimming Mount is to use a Flying Mount. Flying Mounts can fly over water and when their stamina bar depletes, the🅠y will just fall back to ground level - o🍬r in this case, sea level.

Furthermore, Flying Mounts do not take fall damage, meaning that when you fall into the water, your Flying Mount will continue to hover and even replenish their stamina bar without taking any damage from the fall.

Another tip for crossing bodies of water is to change your Stamina Depletion and Replenish settings or to allocate your Stat Points to your Stamina Bar. The more stamina you have, the longer you and your Pals can traverse long distances over land, sea, and air.

To change your Stamina settings, go to the 'Select World' page upon opening your game, and select Custom Settings or reduce your difficulty level using the difficulty presets.
