Swedish video game publisher Paradox Interactive announced on September 30 that it would be cancelling several unannounced games in order to "focus resources and expertise onꩵ its proven game niches".

This update was revealed , and unfortunately seems to imply Paradox will not be branching out into more experimental games. The company has sta🦹ted it will be focusing on "projects that better meet the com🔜pany’s requirements on returns and risk."

Paradox was "born and raised in strategy and management games," says CEO Fredrik Wester. "We have sharpened our pipeline furthಌer to ensure that the projects with the highest potential have the resources necessary for the best possible development."

This means we can expect the type of management and real-time strategy games Paradox is known for, such as Surviving Mars, 🌠Cities: Skylines, 🌊and Crusader Kings, but not much else.

The company has reported that these recent cancellations, as well as other axed projects that date back to the third quarter of 2020, will cost the company ar﷽ound £22.3 million (265 mi🅺llion Swedish krona).

Former Paradox CEO Ebba Ljungerud resigned on Septembe💃r 2 due to "differing views on the company's strategy going forward." The decision to move forward only with tried and tested games formulas could be the reason. Returning C🥀EO Wester recently apologised for an "incident" of &q𝓀uot;inappropriate behaviour" with a female employee, but claims that was not the reason he resigned in 2018.

On top of cancellations and losses, almost half of Paradox Interactive's staff recently reported that they had been mistreated on the job. There is r𒆙eportedly a💯 culture of silence at the company that prevents employees from speaking up.

Paradox Interactive is just one of several video game companies currently being investigated for mistreating its employees. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ubisoft Singapore is being in🉐vestigated by the country's employment watchdog after allegations of racially motivated bullying and sexual harassment from management surfaced.

Activ📖ision Blizzard recently settled꧒ an $18 million lawsuit filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and will use the money to set up a fund for workers affected by sexual harassment at the company. It is still under investigation by 🧸the Securities and Exchange C𝓀ommission, all while the state of California's lawsuit over the company's alleged toxic work culture is still ongoing.
