Paradox Interactive has announced that it's opening a seventh studio in Barcelona, which will focus💫 on games in the grand strategy genre.
Paradox Interactive is a video game publisher that is known for releasing strategy games, including titles like Crusader Kings II (as well as the upcoming Crusader Kings III), Hearts of Iron, and Stellaris. Paradox has also published RPGs, like Pillars of Eternity, as well as owning the entire World of Darkness and franc🐬hise, which includes the tabletop games aꦑnd video games based on the properties.
Paradox Interactive has that it's opening a seventh studio in Barcelona, which will be called Paradox Tinto. The studio will be headed by Johan Andersson, who is the creator of the Europa Universalis video game series. Paradox Tinto will be working on Europa Universalis IV, which will be followed by ot🧔her games in the grand strateܫgy genre. Andersson has talked about his plans for the future of the studio in a statement on the Paradox website.
“I am excited and grateful for this opportunity to build up a new studio in a new location, putting the knowledge accumulated through the decades of building games and development studios into good use,” said Johan Andersson, Studio Manager at Paradox Tinto. “My goal is to assemble a team and create a fully functional studio to keep on developing the Europa Universalisও brand, and later deꦇsign and develop new grand strategy games.”
The people in the video game industry who are based in Barcelona (or are willing to move) will be interested to learn that Parado🦋x Tinto has several open positions on its page. The Paradox Tinto studio is currently looking for a UI artist, a studio operations manager, a producer, a gameplay programmer, a game designer, and a content designer. According to Paradox COO Charlotta Nilsson, the company intends to hire around 200 new people throughout 2020 across its different studios.
2020 is shaping up to be a big year for Paradox Interactive, with titles like Crusader Kings III and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 being some of the company's most highly-anticipated games of all time. Paradox has produced some incredibly popular grand strategy games in the past and the company now has an aveღnue to make even more, and in a far sunnier climate than they're used to.
