Park Beyond's campaign is still in tutorial mode for the first couple of missions. However, you'll still have to make some decisions and you'll learn about important features that aren't quite explained.
In this guide we take you through the Welcome To Cloudstormer mission and look at all the questions you may have that the level doesn't answer.
Welcome To Cloudstormer Overview
In the last mission rollercoasters were the focus, but here we switch to management and flat rides. You'll need to take a run-down park with a couple of basics, select a target demographic, and then make the park suit their needs.
This is the point you'll notice the pros and cons of how things like heat maps and staff management work via a series of simple tasks.
How To Build The Basics
You'll be shown how to set up a basic park through a series of short tasks that involve:
- Building Paths
- Opening Rides
- Building Rides
- Adding Shops
Game speed is also tackled before you are given the first set of choices.
Which Theme Should I Choose?
The first choice you are given is to select a theme. The options are:
- Western - This theme uses a lot of wood and natural colours as well as some metal features.
- Candyville - This bold and striking theme contains a huge amount of pink and white candy and ice cream designs.
- Sci-Fi - Also tagged as Alien Planet, this theme has a strong red colour pallet and a retro diner vibe.
It's important to know that your theme has zero effect on your guests. Since there are no pros and cons for any option, just choose the one you prefer.
The entrance as well as the existing shop and toilets are Western-themed, so if yoಞu w🦄ant things to match, choose this.
Which Demographic Should I Choose?
The choices for your target demographic are:
- Teens
- Families
- Adults
These are the three options throughout the game and each ride and shop has an appeal rating for all three demographics.
The only difference this decision makes is how you prioritise your rides and buildings. While you have access to the same rides, you'll need to make sure you build the ones that most appeal to your target market.
What Else Do I Need To Know?
Over the last part of the mission, you'll need to follow directions and make your park function properly. This includes:
- Adding Toilets, Benches, and Bins
- Opening More Shops
- Adding More Rides
- Hiring Staff
- Changing Ride Prices
You'll also be required to have a rollercoaster, but you will be able to place down a prebuilt track if you don't want to get too into the coaster editor just yet.
Finally, you'll have a brief overview of the monitoring tools. These are important because they help you identify🙈:
- Any unprofitable shops or rides
- Places where toilets, bins, and benches are needed
- The best locations for shops
Use the heat maps frequently and explore all the options. While this tutᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚorial-style mission is easy things ramp up very quickly in the next couple of missions.
