In Peak, environmental hazards play a role in shaping the climbing experience, and one of the most important to understand is Frost. Frost is a stamina-draining effect.
Frost In The Fog
Frost occurs when you enter the fog, a persistent and rising weather condition 💟designed to pressure you into climbing efficiently🌳.
The fog acts as a soft time limit, gradually getting closer to you and ascending the mountain as you climb. If it catches up to you, Frost will begin to take effect, steadily depleting your stamina over time.
If you remain in the fog too long without escaping, the Frost will eve🙈ntually drain your stamina completely, resulting in death🃏.
Frost In The Alpine
Additionally, you'll experience the Frost condition at the Alpine climb during Blizzards. Blizzards are random, short weather events that last less than a minute.

How To Stop Frost From The Fog
To avoid Frost, the best strategy is to maintain a steady pace and stay ahead of the fog’s progression. Efficiency in movement and minimizing mistakes are𒈔 key to staying safe.
However, if you prefer a more relaxed or exploratory experience, Peak does provide an option to disable the fog. In the game’s Gate Kiosk in the airport, you can turn off the time limit fog entirely by selecting the Tenderfoot option. Doing so will prevent the fog from rising, thereby removing the Frost effect and allowing you to climb without any time-based pressure.
How To Stop Frost At The Alpine
If you reach the Alpine, you'll also get the Frost effect when Blizzards take place.
