It wasn’t that long ago that I was playing Persona 3 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:to review the port earlier this year. Back then, I was lamenting🌊 the lack of a complete modern ver🐽sion of the game, as it didn’t include all of the content from across every iteration to date. With the announcement of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Persona 3 Reload, I thought maybe, finally, fans would get the uജltimate definitive editio𒁏n. But no.

Reload is based on neither Persona 3: FES nor Persona ✃3 Portable, and is instead a remake of the original game, though it will apparently have elements from FES. This means we’re not getting the epilogue chapter from FES or the female protagonist route from Portable. More importantly, it means I can’t romance Akihiko at all.

As a result, I wasn’t expecting much from Reload. I knew it would look shiny and new, but I didn’t anticipate quite how excited I would get when I played it recently at Gamescom. Don’t get me wrong: I love Persona, a🍌nd I knew I would like i𝔍t regardless. But having recently played the story through in its entirety—and they’re not short games—I didn’t think I’d be that hyped about replaying again so soon.

The moment that familiar, stylish music blared and I saw the characters with their slick new graphic glow-ups, I was smitten. Everything just looked so clean. The character movements feel so much more natural in their 3D𝓡 forms, and the animated portraits for conversations looked fantastic. Cutscenes felt more cinematic, like when the protagonist pulls Junpei out of the way during the lead up to a boss battle. The presentation of Reload reminds us that Persona is the king of style.

Many Persona games suffer from samey dungeons, especially in older titles. Every corridor looks identical. In fairness, it's done to disorient you, but intentional or not it still looks a little bland. Despite this, it was nice to see that Reload spruces Tartarus up a little, adding more detail and chucking in some breakable objects you can smash for items.

Combat is much the same as you would expect, though naturally, everything looks better and feels smoother. A new Shifting mechanic has been added, allowing you to pass the chance of a One More to someone else in your party, effectivel🔯y acting like the Baton Pass from morꦑe recent titles.

I wouldn't normally play the same game twice in a year, especially not a long narrative game like Persona. However, Reload is such an impressive upgrade from the base game, and it exudes so much more style and charm that it’s all too easy to want to dive right back in. It doesn't have all the content I wish it did, but I'm still eager to replay and see the story play out in these crisp new graphics and see what other quality-of-life improvements have been made. Besides, I can still hope for some DLC or an expanded version that combines Reload with FES and Portable. One day, we might get a definitive Persona 3, but until then, this will do just fine.
