Though returning players are familiar with the towering labyrinth, newcomers to who approach the game expecting traditional dungeons are in for a surprise. Instead of in🐽dividual Palaces like Persona 5, you’ll instead be headed into Tartarus, one dungeon that takes the whole game to finish.

Broken into several different blocks and thematically different throughout, Tartarus is your one-stop dungeon in P3R that sees you battling progressively tougher shadows, discovering better loot, and unraveling th𝐆e mystery behind Tartarus a little further with every floor you climb. Our guide has some helpful tips to help you out in Tartarus.

Though we aim to be aꦕs spoiler-free 💧as we can in our overview guides, this Tartarus guide may contain spoilers for the progression of Persona 3 Reload.

What Is Tartarus?

Though more recent Persona games have dedicated dungeons for each chapter of the game's story, in Persona 3 Reload, you'll instead have a single dungeon throughout the entire game. This is Tartarus, which is only accessible during the Dark Hour when it rises from Gekkoukan High. To get here, use the bulletin board in the dorm lobby or speak to your navigation teammate.

When you first begin playing Persona 3 Reload, you'll automatically be brought to Tartarus on 4/20 for an introductory mission, where you'll only explore the first floor. Past this, you'll need to manually choose to go to Tartarus that night, which will ꦜconsume your Evening time slot and load directly into Tartarus during the Dark Hour so you ꦇcan get started.

The dungeon is broken into several different blocks, each of which spans multiple floors before you reach a temporary blockade at a border floor. These borders are to keep you from pressing on too far too soon, as plenty of what happens as you climb Tartarus is tied intrinsically to story progression.

In general, you should aim to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:complet🐽e a🦩 block of Tartarus per Full Moon - it keep𓆉s you on track to complete the tower by the end of the story, where the final floor is the scene for important end-game content, and puts you around the right level for Full Moon boss fights.

Most Of Tartarus Is Randomly Generated

You'll find yourself doubling back to re-explore blocks of Tartarus, whether it's for training, looting, or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Compendium completion, but when you get there, the layout of most floors changes between visits.

In all, your goal on each floor is to defeat the Shadows here, loot treasure chests of various types (all of which offer different kinds of powerful rewards), and ultimately find the stairs that lead to the next floor so that you can continue to climb the tower.

Once you've completely mapped a floor for that night, you'll be able to fast-travel to the next floor of Tartarus, provided you already found the stairs. If you head back down to the entrance and go back up again, any floor you've already mapped still will be unti꧙l you leave for the night.

Once Fuuka joins𓃲 the team, she'll be able to slowly but surely provide maps of Tartarus, allowing you to occasionally shortcut directl𓂃y to the next floor or back to the entrance if needed.

What Resets Every Night In Tartarus?

Teleporters Can Bring You Between Floors, But Some Only Work One Way

Throughout your climb up through Tartarus in Persona 3 Reload, you'll find a teleporter - typically every couple of floors, but always on floors with Gatekeeper mini-boss fights to allow you periodic stꦅarting points for later adventures through ꧅Tartarus.

There are two different kinds of𝔉 teleporters in Persona 3 Reload:

• Two-way teleporters are reliably located on each floor where you'll tackle a Gatekeeper mini-boss fight.
  • These not only bring you to the entrance from your current floor but once unlocked, you can use the teleporter at the entrance to automatically travel back to this teleporter at a later time.
  • They're placed before the Gatekeeper itself, so it's usually wise to activate the teleporter before you fight the gatekeeper, just in case the fight doesn't go your way.

• One-way teleporters are sprinkled randomly throughout the other floors of Tartarus.
  • Unlike the other teleporters, these can only bring you back to the entrance. Should you leave this way, you'll need to restart from the highest floor you reached by talking to your nav person at the entrance.
    • Once you've leveled Fuuka enough, she'll be able to provide an escape route without a teleporter (for the cost of some of her SP).

  • It's tough to miss these - your teammates call them out upon discovery, and they're marked with a blue hexagon on your map of that floor.

Assemble Your Team, Visit The Velvet Room, Heal The Party, And More At The Entrance

When you first go to Tartarus each night, unsurprisingly, you'll begin from the large, open entrance of Tartarus, which includes several things you'll need to keeꦕp in mind to helpꦑ as you push up the tower.

The entrance of Tartar🐻us is where you'll be able to:

• Assemble a party for the journey ahead by speaking to your SEES teammates where they gather beside the stairs.
  • Not everyone is available at all times, but your teammates will have speech bubbles above their heads, so chat with them to ask them to join you. If the party is already full, you can choose who they'll replace.
    • You can also manually choose a party from the pause menu.

• Visit the Velvet Room before expeditions to prepare your stock, or after to log new Personas into your Compendium.
  • Personas level with you as you explore Tartarus, so be sure to register your changes in the Compendium if you want to keep the cool new move your Persona learned that night.

• Use the teleporter to access higher floors in Tartarus, provided you've activated the teleporter on said higher floor first, or return to the highest floor you've reached so far.
  • As mentioned above, the teleporter can typically only bring you back to floors where you challenged a Gatekeeper.

• Access the clock using Twilight Fragments to completely replenish the entire team's HP and SP.
  • This clock costs seven Twilight Fragments to access and will need to be paid for each time you do, but other clocks on other floors may cost a different amount.

• Check your progress through the dungeon by speaking with your active navigation party member.
• Save the game, which can be done from any section of Tartarus in which you're able to change teammates.
  • This won't occur outside the entrance until the very end of the game, but it's worth keeping in mind when you have a trio of tough boss fights between you and the game's conclusion!

• Leave Tartarus after you're finished exploring.

Clocks like the one at the entrance now randomly spawn on other floors of Tartarus, in addition to the one that's always av🌌ailable to the left of the stairs to the first floor of Tartarus. They'll typically be found pretty high up in a block, after you've explored a bit.

Provided you 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:have enough Twilight Fragments to use the clocks as you find them, you can fully heal your team without returning to the entrance, which can be just the push the team needs to๊ finish your🍸 exploration goals for the night.

Climb The Floors Of Tartarus Between Full Moons

Though your only deadlines set in stone are the dates of the Full Moons and the final battle 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:against Nyx, you'll progress up into Tartarus throughout Persona 3 Reload to keep making steady progress through the tower.

There are six blocks of Tartarus total, which are:

• 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Thebel, the first block, which runs between 2F-XX. This area serves as an introduction to Tartarus and using 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:your team's Personas.

• Harabah is the fifth section of Tartarus that runs from 173F-225F, while dazzling with colors and patterns, is fairly straightforwardly 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:used to train.
• Adamah unlocks once you've chosen the path toward the good ending, spanning 226F-263F and serving as the location for your fight against 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Jin Shirato, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Takaya Sakaki, and finally Nyx on the Promised Day.

What's The Difference Between Types Of Treasure Chests?

As you explore Tartarus, you'll come across four different kinds of treasure chests 𒈔dotted around sporadically in the ever-changing layout of the꧑ dungeon.

• Regular chests are bluish and often contain yen, but may also feature some standard items like HP replenishing items.
• Rare chests have a purple light coming from the top, and they offer better items like better HP replenishment, SP replenishment, or armor/accessories.
• Twilight Fragment chests are silver with red lights and require a set number of Twilight Fragments to open, but they contain better weapons and powerful items, making them well worth the price.
• Nihil chests cast a green light and will be found beginning in the third block, which offer weapon and armor blueprints you can take to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mayoido Antiques after it opens to craft powerful gear.

With the changing nature of Tartarus, only the ches💦ts on the Gatekeepe🃏r floors remain after you've left Tartarus for the night. This, though, can be helpful if you've defeated a Gatekeeper but didn't have enough Twilight Fragments on you after the fight.

As such, you'll need to grab chests as you find them on the map, though🧸 you may need to leave some Twilight Fragment chests behind if you don't cuꦚrrently have enough on the night you find them.

Your teammates remark when a treasജure chest is nearby, and you'll receive special commentary about Rare or Twilight Fragment chests, so they're pretty tough to miss provided you've explored the entire floor.

Shuffle Time Offers Unique Rewards

When you win a battle, you stand a chance of randomly triggering Shuffle Time, which brings up several cards for you to choose from as an additional prize after the battle.

If you⛎ fini🐲sh a battle with an All-Out Attack, you're guaranteed to trigger Shuffle Time.

Each of the cards you'll have to choose from offers a variety of prizes, including things like money, Personas, healing, and more. The number on the card and the number of symbols indicate which level of reward you'll receive, with higher numbers yieldꩲing better rewards.

Shuffle Time Cards And What They Offer

You won't always have every option in each draw, though, and you can only choose one card without using bonuses from thꦆe Major Arcana cards, so choose wisely!

Arcana Bursts Power Up Your Shuffle Time Cards For The Night

New in Persona 3 Reload's Shuffle Time mechanic, though, are Arcana Bursts, which offer quite a powerful boost to the Shuffle Time mecha✱niღc.

Occasionally, during Shuffle Time, you'll come across a Major Arcana tarot card in the deck of options - they offer a unique prize that changes depending on the cards, but if you collect a set number of arcana cards available each night, you'll trigger an Arcana Burst.

You can see how many Arcana cards you'll need to collect each night from the Shuffle Time screen, with an outline of how many Arcana cards you need in the lower-left corner of the scre🍎en.

More cards unlock as you progress through the game, specifically after completing different 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Monad Passage challenges.

Once you've triggered the Arcana Burst by collecting the night's Major Arcana cards, your Shuffle Time cards are boosted by one level, meaning you'll receive better Shuffle Time rewards for the rest of the night.

Additionally, you'll get to choose one boosted card immediately for an extra reward just for 🐻triggering the Arcana Burst (or more, if you've already unlocked the Major Arcana perk of picking extra cards).

Though, like the floors of Tartarus, your Arcana Burst resets every night, which means you'll need to trigger a new one each time you explore Tartarus. This means the Major Arcana cards should be something of a priority whenever you triggerꦯ Shuffle Time.

Battle Gatekeepers To Continue Climbing

As you progress through Tartarus, you'll occasionally encounter a Gatekeeper, a decidedly strong Shadow that you'll need to defeat before you can continue exploring that block of Tartarus. You'll find between two and six Gatekeepers per block, and youܫ'll be p🧜revented from continuing until you defeat each one.

These Shadows are much stronger than others in that block, and they serve as a kind of litmus test before you move into another section - Shadows change throughout each block, typically right after you've handled a Gatekeeper battle. If you're not strong eno𓆉ugh to defeat the Gatekeeper, you're not ready for what's past them.

Gatekeepers are typically reskins of enemies you'll battle later as regular Shadows, while the Guardians from P3P reappear as minor Shadows this time around, so don't be alarmed if you see the same design pop up later on - you'll know when you're fighting a Gatekeeper.

Unlike normal Shadows, though, Gatekeeper Shadows do not respawn. Once you've defeated them, they're gone for good, and you can safely use that floor as a teleporter to continue your exploration at a later date.

Before you leave the floor to carry on, though, be sure to check the area just past the Gatekeeper for battle rewards, which are typically locked in chests.

Some of these require Twilight Fragments to open, but chests on Gatekeeper floors don't despawn, meaning you can always come back later when you have enough to open them if you don't the first time around.

How Long Can You Stay In Tartarus?

Though it may be tempting to lean into 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the social aspects of Persona 3 Reload, it's best that you don't save too much of Tartarus to complete all at once. There isn't a technical limit stopping you, but since Tartarus is where you gain EXP, you likely won't have much luck with Full Moon boss battles without training.

It's possible to do a whole block in one night, provided you've come with enough HP and ಞSP-replenishing options to keep the tea🌼m in good shape, though. Make use of the auto-heal function outside of battle to have someone on the team automatically use a bit of SP to replenish the entire team's HP, to keep everyone in good shape for the fights ahead.

However, there's no shame in needing to use the teleporters to come and go as you need, with ample options to go heal at the clock or visit the Velvet Room to fus🦩e stronger Personas.
