Sega and Atlus have expressed interest in porting more of their popular games, including titles in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series, to PC.
This past week, on August 5, 2020, Sega released their fiscal year financial reports covering the period from April to June 2020. Part of the report covered the notable success of their recent Persona 4 Golden PC port, which was released this past summer. During the Q&A portion of the presentation, one investor asked about the possibility of porting more popular game titlဣes to the PC an♈d selling them on Steam. Representatives from Sega and Atlus answered positively.
Que𓆏stions from the presentation were recently released publicly. Each question was answered by two representatives from Sega: Haruki Satomi, President and Group COO, and Koichi Fukazawa, Senior Executive🌟 Vice President and Group CFO.
"We remastered Persona 4 the Golden, a tಌitle previously sold on the PlayStation Vita, and released it for sale on Steam this fiscal year," . "Because of the game’s critical acclaim and its low selling price, sales were much stronger than expected. We will continue to actively promote porting previously released titles to Steam and new platforms. We are also negotiating with platform holders for new games in the future, and we’re considering ways to sell under favorable conditions for each title. Among them are measures such as preparing PC versions of the titles from the beginning, with multi-platform releases in mind."
This year, three Atlus games received or were announced for re-releases on different ports. Beyond Persona 4 Golden's PC release, puzzle RPG Catherine: Full Body was ported to the Nintendo Switch this summer, Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster was announced for a Switch and PlayStation 4 release, and long-awaited sequel Persona 5 Scramble 🍸was released for both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. It appears the company has accumulated enough data to prove that re-porting older games can be successful and increasing accessibility is something fans respond positively to.
At the time of writing, Sega nor Atlus has not confirmed any upcominꦆg PC ports for their games. However, given the comments from this interview, hopefully, that will change soon.
