It should come as no surprise, though, that Shido’s boss fight is tough. We’re he💛re to help you out with anything you might need to know in order to 💮give you the best shot at taking down this slimeball.

Preparing The Team

persona 5 royal preparing the team to fight shido intro dialogue

Undeniably the biggest tip we can give you for this fight is this: bring a Persona or two for Joker who can repel physical attacks. We’ll get more into the “why” in the relevant section of the fight, but 🏅trust us on this one. Shido, unsurprisingly, was the final boss of the original game and therefore is extremely difficult to take on.

Without equipping a Persona that at the very least resists physical damage (if it doesn't repel or drain it) for Joker, you're probably going to have a very bad time with this fight.

Additionally, in terms of elemental attacks, Shido is gearing up to lob every kind of elemental attack at you. His final form's got quite the spread and can be difficult to circumnavigate, especially with your party members and the fact that he can perform multiple attacks per turn, but for an easier experience, try to give Joker Personas that have no weaknesses.

Shido doesn't have any elements that he's weaker to than others, so punching power is what matters here, not affinity. Whatever your Personas can repel and drain is an added bonus, but the primary goal is not to give Shido any weaknesses on Joker to exploit.

However, because of this spread in his abilities, recommending a specific party setup is difficult, this is because Shido has moves to hit absolutely everyone you could bring. We can tell you for sure, though, that having a healer is a game-changer for this fight. You will be taking damage here, so be mindful.

Unsurprisingly, given the nature of the story and what we know of Shido, you’ll have to fight him using only Joker at one point, so pay mind to your party, of course, but keeping Joker healthy and with plenty of SP is the ticket to winning.

Come prepared, as always, with items and spells for HP/SP recovery, as you’ll definitely be using quite a few of them. The Shido boss fight has five individual stages to get through, so when you arrive, hunker down💎 and prepare for a slugfest.

Additional Helpful Preparations

Phase One: The Beast Of Human Sacrifice

persona 5 royal shido form one beast of human suffering

One of the most important things to remember in the first few phases of the fight is that your enemy here is Shido, not the people he’s abused to get to where he is. As such, it’s in your best interest not to attack the vessel Shido is riding at any point.

Shido has a fun trick during these stages of trying to inflict rage on your party so they auto-attack, most likely hitting the vessel, and injuring themselves. If anyone has been inflicted with rage, try to heal them as soon as possible to prevent them from moving without your𒁏 guidance.

During this phase, Shido moves twice per turn. This usually plays out as him doing damage to your team on the first move and then following it up with a debuff for them after. Negating debuffs should be a priority, as these can stack and truly cripple ♓your team’s abi🤡lity to hit Shido back.

With him so prone to debuffing your team, do your best to buff the team before this if you can. Not only will you hit 𝔉harder, but hi🌸s debuffs will be less effective.

His two primary damage-dealing attacks focus on physical, so this is a good time to let Joker use his Personas that can’t be hurt by these moves. The more immunities Joker’s Personas have, the better.

Keeping buffs and debuffs in mind, the first stage is relatively straightforward enough – deal more damage than you take and knock him down.

Phase Two: The Wings Of Human Sacrifice

persona 5 royal shido form two the wings of human suffering

Once you’ve done enough damage to Shido, he attempts to alleviate the pressure you’re putting on, and his beast gains wings. We’re not entirely sure how this means he gets to attack three times per turn, but some🌃thing about it d🏅oes, so tread very carefully.

This phase has several powerful moves, but at least for your sake, it attacks your team in a pattern. It prioritizes the strength of its elemental attacks to explo✃it weaknesses﷽.

Its priorities always flow in order across the affinities chart: it uses fire magic first, then ice, electric, wind, psio, nuclear, bless, and curse. Finally, it will use its Royal Wing Blast to deal physical damage before jumping back to the start 🦂ꦜof this pattern.

Keeping this pattern in mind, instruct specific party members to block when the attack they’re weak to is on the docket for Shido. He won’💧t deviate from the pattern, but he is quite good at exploiting party weaknesses. If you have Yusuke in your fight for his killer ice skills, for example, have him block during the firs𒆙t turn, as fire magic will be the first up from Shido, and the attack will likely be targeted at him.

This stage is definitely tough, but a careful combination of guarding at the right time and focusing on physical, gun, or almighty damage will see you through.

Phase Three: The Tomb Of Human Sacrifice

persona 5 royal shido form three tomb of human suffering

Thankfully enough, Shido can only attack once per turn during this stage, but the big move his odd pyramid of human torsos has, 🃏Pyramid Blast, is an absolute monster if it hits you.

To begin the fight, however, it starts off using its lesser-damage move, Cannon Fire. Don’t get us wrong – dealing severe almighty damage to whoever it hits will definitely hurt them, but at least it’s a single-target move. That combined with Shido only moving once should give you some nice opportunities to both heal yourself and iᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚnflict damage on him.

After you’ve knocked down enough of its HP, Shido gets pissed and begins charging for its massive attack. The good news here is that Pyramid Blast takes two turns to charge up. A good method for this stage of the fight is to have your team do as much damage as possible during the first turn in the hope o🤡f taking out the ca༒nnon to prevent the attack.

However, if you’re not able to destroy it, have everyone guard on the second turn, as Shido’s third move deals colossal almighty damage and will likely still hurt even with your guard up.

Repeat this process until the Thieves 🍨manage to destroy the Tomb, forcing Sh🥃ido to fight you himself.

Phase Four: Samael

persona 5 royal shido form four samael

After a chat wherein Shido finally recognizes where he remembers Joker from, Shido strips down to his oddly-beefy fourth form. 💫Because of cours⛄e, that’s how he sees himself, right?

This is where you want to make sure you equip Joker with a Persona that doesn’t take physical damage, as, outside its buffing and debuffing moves, physical is the only type of attack that this form can use.

Now that Shido remembers you, though, he’s coming for you specifically, so keeping Joker healthy is critical here.

In addition to trying his best to hurt you, a man like Shido succeeds through inflicting fear, so he will definitely be trying to do so. When a party member is afflicted with fear, they have a high chance of ignoring your commands. In addition to not listening to you, they may freeze in place when attacked, and might not evade attacks.

Shido is persuasive, sure, but keep your party unafraid and in tip-top shape. When his HP drops below the halfway point during this phase is when he begins using Deathbound, which deals only medium damage, but it hits everyone one or two times, giving Sh🐠ido a big, muscular♚ leg up here.

But just when you think you have Shido on the ropes, he bursts from his restraints and shows you his true, most powerful form.

Phase Five: True Samael

persona 5 royal shido form five before he fights all the thieves

This is undeniably the most frustrating stage of the fight, and it’s for all the marbles, no less. In this stage, Shido has 24 unique attacks he’s able to use, some single-target and some multi-target, covering all affinities. Truly, nobody is safe with this guy.

It’s cool to know he’s this afraid of you, but it’s also rather tough to deal with. Be sure to keep healing and buffing your team to stand up against the heavy variants of the elemental magic attacks. Shido is good at exploiting weaknesses, so be on top of your healing during thꦗis last stage and throw as much damage his way as you can.

Depending on what part of the fight you’re in, Shido can use between one and three moves per turn. Thankfully, he’𝕴s ♊got a default attack order no matter what his HP is.

  • From 100-75 percent health, he uses the ma-dyne spells. As before, he keeps them in order of the affinities chart, so they hit in the order of fire, ice, wind, electric, psio, nuclear, bless, curse. After he’s cycled through them all, he returns to fire again.
  • From 75-25 percent health, he attacks in this order: Charge and Heat Riser, then Tyrant’s Purge, and Tyrant’s Cleanse. After these one-two punches, he wastes a turn before starting the cycle again.

Final Stand: Joker Versus Shido

persona 5 royal shido form five true samael fighting joker alone

Once you get him down to 25 percent health, though, is when the real fun starts: Shido isolates Joker from the Phantom Thieves and makes him fight True Samael alone, with a brand-new move order, no less.

This is why we advised you to stack Joker with Personas without weaknesses, as there’s nobody to help him out in this last stage of the fight. It comes down to just you and Shido, so give Joker the best chance to hol🅰d his own.

While we can’t make Shido keep your friends in the fight, we can tell you in what order he’ll be attacking Joker. Thankfully for you, it remains the same, so find where he is in the cycle (he starts with one of four elemental attacks) and follow the chain of attacks from there.

In order from wherever in the sequence he jumps in, True Samael will attack Joker with the following progression:

  • Thunder Reign
  • Tyrant’s Cleanse
  • Panta Rhei
  • Heat Riser
  • Inferno
  • Tyrant’s Cleanse
  • Diamond Dust
  • Heat Riser

You can see him focusing on buffing himself and debuffing you if he gets you on the ground at any point, so to avoid this, don’t let Joker fight 🌞with a Persona weak to these moves. Asౠ we’ve mentioned, his stat buffs and debuffs to you are no joke, so don’t let them happen if you have Personas that can prevent weakness exploits.

Eventually, though, with enough persistence, Shido goes down after a while. Kick back and enjoy what’s to come - your journey through the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Metaverse, though it seems like it’s drawing to a close, is only just getting sꦫtarted.
