Devolver꧑ Digital today revealed Phantom Abyss – an asynchronous multiplayer game that looks a lot like Indiana Jones. You’ll be tasked with running through trap-laden temples as fast as you can in an attempt to pillage its treasures and steal hidden relics.
Each level is procedurally generated, and once somebody beats it, it’s closed off fo𒐪re❀ver. That adds a level of urgency to your actions – although you’ll still need to be on the lookout for deadly traps around every turn. Thankfully, you’ll have a trusty Indiana Jones-style whip to help you traverse the deadly environ🧜ments. New whips will also be unlockable, although it’s unclear if these will confer in-game benefits or just be a way to add a stylish flair to your temple raider. Those whips will come in handy when it comes to facing off against the Temple Guardian – one of three enemies that haunt each level and do everything♐ in their power to stop your progress.
Phantom Abyss will be coming to on June 22. Expect it to remain in Early Access for about a year, as the team builds new content🎶 based on community feedback and works towards a full lau♍nch sometime in 2022.
