Twitch streamer PirateSoftware made history today, breaking the record for the highest ever Hype Train that the platform has seen since the feature's inception. Not only has PirateSoftware broken the record, but they absolutely destroyed it, also becoming the first ever streamer to cap out the Hype Train feature at Level 55.

The moment that PirateSoftware broke the record was shared on the LivestreamFail subreddit earlier today, in which game director Jason Hall - better known to his fans as Thor - struggles to hold back his incredulity at somehow managing to become the record holder of Twitch's highest ever Hype Train

PirateSoftware later acknowledging the achievement and thanked the people who helped for what they managed to pull off. They also share some pretty stunning statistics from their Hype Train, including the reveal that they managed to earn 7,321 new subscribers and over 1.8 million bits. That's roughly $22,000 for all you non-Twitch readers.

This is incredibly humbling and I cannot thank you enough for what you've done for me. I only hope that what I do is even a fraction as valuable for you.

While there seems to be some pushback over the severity of the Hype Train's setting, as it can be altered depending on the popularity of the streamer, there's still no taking away the fact that PirateSoftware is now the first ever streamer to fully complete a Hype Train by reaching Level 55. The stats they provided are even higher than other record-breaking Hype Trains from popular streamers such as Kai Cenat and Admiral Bahroo.

What makes PirateSoftware's achievement even more remarkable is their sudden rise to fame. You may not have heard the name PirateSoftware, but chances are you'll have seen Thor's face if you're a frequent YouTube viewer. The channel has been around for a while due to their work on , but it's game director Thor that has arguably propelled the name into stardom.

Thor has made a name for himself primarily on YouTube, talking about his experiences in game development at places such as Blizzard and Amazon Game Studios, with the site sneaking his YouTube Shorts into pretty much everyone's algorithm. Having clearly enjoyed his radio-esque voice and compelling personality, viewers have flocked to PirateSoftware's Twitch channel to hear more stories, and the rest is history.
