Melie grows to be good friends with Hugo and Amicia after she saves them. The death of her brother, Arthur, and witnessing Hugo's new powers change her relationship with the two main characters. Hugo, despite being a child, notices this and brings it up when asking Amicia why Melie left. We imagine she will return in the sequel, but will she be a friend or a foe? It is easy to understand her complicated feelings, but hopefully she comes around and accepts Hugo with his new abilities. Seeing her become a villain would make for some good drama, though.

Th൩e Prima Macula is the evil controlling the plague and the rats. It is also responsible for prior outbreaks throughout history. What exactly is it, though, and what is its motivation? Is it🅰 a life form or does it have a more supernatural explanation? Given the connection to noble bloodlines, we are willing to bet the latter. The characters are going into the sequel already aware of its existence, so we should learn more about it in the future.

Duri🎉ng the epilogue, the people in the town mention Hugo being wante🦩d by powerful people. Who exactly are they talking about.
Our money is on the Church, but it could be some other organization after his power. We'll probably find out immediately at the start of the sequel. One of the greatest tragedies in the game besides the overall setting is how Hugo is simply not allowed to have a childhood.

The game constantly reminds Amicia to be kind to Hugo, and only bad things happen when she lies to him or yells at him. With Hugo's new powers combined with his age, there is any number of directions he can go. It almost seems like A Plague Tale: Requiem can go the way of films like Chronicle or the anime Akira and deal with what happens when someone so young and emotionally unstable is given supernatural abilities. Someone so impressionable can easily become corrupted, especially after killing people and seeing so much death.
