On day six of a run, you are given the choice between two Theme cards. Themes have three Tiers, and each Tier brings another bonus to your restaurant. By placing Decorations that give your restaurant Theme points, you'll advance in Tiers. Your restaurant's Theme cannot be changed for the rest of the run, including when you Franchise a run.

The beauty of PlateUp!'s design is that any theme can work well in the right situation. Don't take these rankings as an end-all-be-all: consider what Theme benefits your run the most.

4 ꦆ♏ Formal: Keep The Floor Clean

Customers create messes when they eat, and appliances such as Hobs can create messes while cooking food. Messes require 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a lot of time to clean up if you let them accumulate. This is incredibly detrimental in PlateUp!, since you're racing against the clock. If you notice your workflow is being slowed down by a bunch of food-matter everywhere, Formal could be the Theme for you.

Formal's Bonuses

  • Tier 1 (3 points): Decreased mess creation from both customers and cooking Appliances, such as Hobs.
  • Tier 2 (6 points): Boosts customers' Delivery patience by 500 percent each time a piece of food is delivered to the table.
  • Tier 3 (9 points): No mess is generated from customers.

Both Formal's Tier 1 and Tier 3 center around reducing messes, with Tier 3 entirely nullifying the messes customers make. Customers also generate more messes if placed near certain appliances, such as Bins and Sinks. Therefore, Formal can be an incredible boon when you find yourself low on space and forced to place Dining Tables near these appliances.

Formal's Tier 2 bonus can come in handy if your dining area is far away from the kitchen. You'll have more time to manage the Delivery phase: a welcome respite if you make any mistakes while Delivering, such as mixing up a customer's order.

Besides Formal's bonuses, PlateUp! features items that can reduce or eliminate messes, such as Kitchen Floor Protectors. While Formal's Tier 2 helps in the Delivery phase, it does not provide any bonuses that help get customers in and out of your restaurant, which becomes more important as a run progresses. All in all, Formal is a situational pick. It has value but doesn't bring anything jaw-dropping to the table.

3 Exclusive: You'll Wait Outside, And You'll Like It

A screenshot of customers waiting at tables as well as waiting outside the restaurant in PlateUp!

Whenever your restaurant's tables are full, customers will form a line outside the restaurant and begin decreasing Queue patience. The Exclusive Theme encourages this behavior, giving you more time to clear tables when your restaurant gets busy.

Exclusive's Bonuses

  • Tier 1 (3 points): Increases Queue patience by 33 percent. Queue patience refers to how long customers will wait in line outside the restaurant.
  • Tier 2 (6 points): One bonus coin each time an item is delivered.
  • Tier 3 (9 points): While customers are in the Queue outside the restaurant, table patience does not decrease. This includes Seating patience when customers are waiting at Coffee Tables.

Exclusive's Tier 1's bonus gives you a reasonable bonus to queue patience. When combined with the Tier 3 bonus, you won't have to worry about any of the Patience meters inside your restaurant, so long as people are waiting outside. That said, you'll still want to take care of your customers as quickly as possible. Even with the bonus Queue patience, you'll still be racing the clock.

Tier 2 provides a simple bonus with no downside. Since you'll get one bonus coin each time you deliver something to a table, this bonus synergizes well when your restaurant has bonus foods such as Starters, Sides, and Desserts. One gold per item quickly racks up: this bonus will help you purchase more items than other runs.

2 🐓 Affordable: A Quick Pit Stop Is All I Need

A screenshot of a busy restaurant filled with customers in PlateUp!

The name "Affordable" doesn't have the same glimmer to it as "Exclusive" or "Formal," but this Theme puts in the work and returns a great value. Affordable rewards an efficient restaurant more than anything else.

Affordable's Bonuses

  • Tier 1 (3 points): The Eating and Thinking phases' durations are reduced by 50 percent.
  • Tier 2 (6 points): There is a 50 percent chance for Table Consumables to remain at a table when customers leave.
  • Tier 3 (9 points): Waiting for Food patience is reduced by 50 percent, and the Delivery phase is combined into the Waiting For Food phase.

Affordable's greatest asset is its Tier 1 bonus. The Eating and Thinking phases always slow down a table's service, so reducing their length gets customers out the door quicker. Table Consumables, such as the Specials Menu and the Candle Box, are at-best situational picks for your restaurant, making Tier 2 negligible in most cases. You might have time to place these items playing co-op, but it's essentially a non-starter during solo play.

The primary benefit of Affordable's Tier 3 is that it merges the Delivery phase into the Waiting For Food phase. Despite decreasing this phase's total patience by 50 percent, you won't have to worry about Patience massively depleting once you start delivering food to a table.

Affordable's greatest buff sits at Tier 1, which means you'll only need three points worth of Decorations to unlock it. This makes Affordable a reliable pick for most restaurants, even if you don't manage to unlock its second and third tiers.

1 Charming: Don't Mind The Dirty Plates

A screenshot of customers waiting at candle-lit tables while a chef prepares salads in PlateUp!

Charming's Bonuses

If you serve your customers with a smile and hospitality, they'll give you a lot more leeway. They won't even mind the stack of dirty dishes at their table!

  • Tier 1 (3 points): Bonus 50 percent Service patience.
  • Tier 2 (6 points): When a player is near a table, the table has 50 percent bonus to Patience. This also applies to customers waiting at Coffee Tables.
  • Tier 3 (9 points): Customers will not wait for a table to be cleared before they sit down.

Charming's Tier 1 affects Service patience, which starts when a customer sits down and ends when you've taken their order. This gives you a lot more time to take care of tables in an orderly fashion.

The Tier 2 effect of Charming comes in handy during both solo and co-op runs. When you're running Charming in a solo game, you'll want to set up tables across the counter from the kitchen. That way, you'll be near customers while cooking, increasing their Patience. In co-op, dedicate a player or two to the dining room so that this buff will be active almost all the time.

Tier 3 of Charming is where the magic happens. Typically, customers will not enter the restaurant and 🌜sit down until the table is entirely clear. With larger groups, this can be a daunting task. Thanks to Charming, customers are instead happy to sit down at any free table, no matter the items on top of it.

The primary downside for Charming is that its most valuable bonus sits at Tier 3. You'll have to dedicate a lot of money towards racking up the theme points required, but the benefit is definitely worth the cost.
