Whenever a new generation of consoles comes out, people expect innovation that will improve their gaming experience both in precise ways like better graphics and shorter loading times, as well as innovations that surprise them. One such surprise that the PS4 brought to the table was that the controllers would have bui▨lt-in speakers.
Although this probably seemed unnecessary on paper when tℱhe console was first coming out, now it is a . It's something that lets game developers use their creativity to enhance the players' immersion into the game.
Updated by Madison Lennon on April 7, 2020: We've already acknowledged how neat it is that the PS4 controller has a built-in speaker that can help add to the complete video game immersion. But surprisingly, not many games put out on the PS4 actually use the speaker in a way that is creative or beneficial to the gameplay.
That said, for those who are interested in finding a game that does implement the new audio technology, we've provided a list below and recently updated it with some other selections to help you find a game that fits your interests.
25 ღ Until Dawn ꦍ
Until Dawn is one of the better interactiveཧ cinematic horror games, and it is a PS4 exclusive. The game utilizes the speaker to add to the overall creepy atmosphere of the game.
During many of the quick time sequences, extra noises and ambiance will emit from the speaker to make it feel like you're genuinely stuck in the dark and terrifying gameplay. One reason people love the game is that it makes players feꩵel like t🦋hey're participating in a horror movie from the comfort of their own home, but the speaker makes everything much scarier.
24 Warframe
Warframe is a great action roleplaying game that lets you play co-op and it is free-to-play. But one of the coolest features of the game is the way it uses the speaker on the controller. The mysterious Lotus will speak with you from the speak🦩er to update you on the mission and provide more updates as the game continues.
It definitely helps with immersion toꦦ hear someone communicating with you as if you're the actual character🦄 in the game while you're playing, all through your controller.
23 🤪 Tomb Raider ꦇ
The Tomb Raider trilogy on PS4 was revolutionary in many ways. The games have incredible graphics and utilize the Dualshock controller for mul൩tiple purposes. Not only do the games allow you to use the touchpad for certain things in the games, but a lot of the communication comes from the controller speaker.
When Lar♏a reads lore and dia💯ry updates, they emanate from the speaker, so it feels like she could be in the same room as you, genuinely narrating events from the game.
22 Spelunky
Spelunky is a platforming video game, itဣ is an indie game with 2D features that makes use of the speaker. While the speaker usage isn't exactly revolutionary, it does make some fun sounds and chiming.
As the game name suggests, you play as a spelunker that investigates caves for treasures and jewels. You'll also have to re𝐆scue damsels in distress, fight off enemies, and keep yourself from falling into traps. The game was very well-received by critics and audiences.
21 Knack
Knack is an intense beat 'em up platform video game that utilizes the speaker to minimal effect. When you retrieve c♌ertain items and do certain actions in the game, the Dualshock speaker 🔯will make corresponding sounds.
It might not be much but it helps to make you feel mor🍒e immersed within the game's environment. You'll play as Knack, a humanoid creature composed of relics. Knack will need to help save humankind from the invading goblins. It has been favorably compared to games like Crash Bandicoot.
20 Resogun

Although this side-scrolling shoot 'em up didn't use the PS4 controller's speaker in a lot of varying ways, those who had just gotten their hands on the console, as well as the game, were met with a surprise. Just as the players started Resogun, they were met with a robotic voice telling them to "save the last humans!" Because the game launched basically on the same day as the console, very few players were prepared for that message to come out of their controller instead of their 🦹TV.
Even though this isn't as creative as the other entries in this list, it was definitely enough to leave an impression, as well as send a f💙ew controllers flying due to the jumpscare.
18 Horizon:ಌ Zero Dawn

It's undeniable that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Horizon: Zero Dawn was an🐼 amazing game that drew in more people to buy the PS4 due to it being an exclusive title. Offering an enormous map, interesting story, and great quests, the ga🍸me was fairly immersive on its own. What made it even more immersive were the sound effects coming from the controller that mimicked what Aloy would be hearing, such as the string on her bow tightening as she pulled back an arrow or the sound her Focus makes on activation.
These sounds aren't perfectly incorporat𒆙ed, as for them to be completely imme🍎rsive you'd have to hold the controller up to your ear, but it worked very well, nonetheless.
